For Mohun Bagan SG, the 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) is all about revenge and the prospect of reclaiming what they lost at the end of the previous campaign.
The Mariners sustained a disappointing end to the 2025-26 ISL campaign when they ended up losing the title to rivals East Bengal, with both sides finishing on the same number of points, but the Torchbearers claiming the championship on the basis of superior goal difference.
Hence, Mohun Bagan SG decided to open their transfer kitty to have a prominent 2026 summer transfer window, in which they almost completely revamped their foreign contingency.
The Mariners, like any other ISL side, have signed and registered six foreign players to be part of their squad for the 2026-27 ISL season. Out of that, only two of the international players were retained from their 2025-26 ISL campaign squad.
Indeed, the Mariners were able to shake up their foreign core with some notable signings. They seemingly prioritised signing foreign players who already have the experience of playing and succeeding in the ISL with other teams.
The Kolkata giants decided to strengthen their midfield and primarily their attacking core with some star-studded signings, making their intentions clear to dominate teams in the 2026-27 ISL.
By signing these new international players, the Mariners have been able to strengthen their depth in the midfield and forward positions – as well as raising the unpredictability of their attacking style under new boss Panagiotis Dilmperis.

Mohun Bagan’s Foreign Players 2026-27
Miguel Figueira
The most dramatic transfer saga that Mohun Bagan were involved in during the 2026 summer transfer window was definitely acquiring the services of Miguel Figueira on a free transfer. The Brazilian midfielder, of course, gained popularity in the 2025-26 ISL when he helped East Bengal win their first-ever ISL title by being an inspiring figure in their attack.
Figueira bagged seven goal contributions (two goals, five assists) for the Torchbearers and even won the 2025-26 ISL Golden Ball as the Best Player of the Season. Figueira left East Bengal, infuriating their fans by joining their arch-rivals as their marquee summer signing.
The Brazilian midfielder is going to be a positive addition to the Mohun Bagan attack. He proved his creative qualities last season by bagging five assists and being innovative with his clever passes from open-play situations.
Figueira is an expert when it comes to set-piece delivery, being able to create chances from there. His physical stature allows him to carry the ball forward into the key areas with ease, making him a formidable counter-attacking threat.
He can also finish off chances pretty well, making him a prolific playmaker who should add more sparks to the Mariners’ attack going forward.

Dejan Drazic
With Mohun Bagan needing to add more explosiveness to their attack, they roped in experienced Serbian winger Dejan Drazic in the 2026 summer window.
Drazic gained popularity in Indian Football during his time at FC Goa, for whom he also scored six goals and provided three assists in the 2025-26 ISL. Drazic is quite a versatile forward who is a natural left-winger but can also operate as an attacking midfielder or centre-forward.
The Serbian forward boasts impressive speed in moving his way past defenders to get the ball into the final third. He can be a pretty sound creative threat, capable of sending in inviting passes into the box for his teammates to pounce on.
However, Drazic really thrives at sneaking his way past defenders to get to the end of chances and put them away powerfully to raise his side’s goal threat.
He’ll probably feature in multiple areas in the Mohun Bagan attack, and will look to make use of his unpredictable goal-scoring skills to help them score many more goals in the 2026-27 ISL.

Lee Erwin
Lee Erwin has been brought in to strengthen the goal-scoring threat of Mohun Bagan in the 2026-27 ISL, with the experienced striker replacing the departed Jason Cummings in the squad.
Erwin has been playing professional football for over 14 years and will bring a wealth of experience to the Mariners, as he aims to utilise his knowledge to be a major goal scoring threat for the Kolkata side.
Erwin will be looking to add more spark to Mohun Bagan’s final third, being a thorn with his off-the-ball movement to dupe the defenders into losing their sense of positional awareness.
The Scottish forward will be mostly relied upon to make good use of his finishing skills, as he’ll aim to position himself in the right areas to finish off chances in emphatic fashion and add that extra bit of unpredictability to Mohun Bagan’s goal threat to make them play more incisive attacking football.

Mohun Bagan decided to sign Samir Zeljkovic for the 2026-27 campaign because they needed a bit more stability to their midfield position. The Bosnian midfielder is the only ex-Punjab FC player to follow Panagiotis Dilmperis to the Kolkata side and that means he has a good understanding of what it takes to thrive under the Greek gaffer’s playing style.
Zeljkovic will bring something unique to Mohun Bagan’s midfield and strengthen their depth, ensuring they aren’t relied on the Lalengmawia Ralte-Anirudh Thapa duo all the time.
Samir is a proactive figure in the midfield areas, being able to track the opposition side’s build-up patterns well to make crucial tackles and recovering possession in key areas.
He also boasts pretty good forward passing ability and can also create chances from deeper areas, which can broaden Mohun Bagan’s scope for penetrating their opponents’ backline going forward.
The Bosnian midfielder will look to bring more control and compactness to Mohun Bagan’s midfield line, ensuring they control possession with an iron fist and are able to break open stubborn defensive lines pretty well too.

Jamie Maclaren
Jamie Maclaren has been retained by the Mohun Bagan squad for the 2026-27 ISL because he was one of their better players in the 2025-26 campaign in the first place.
The Australian forward was able to score 10 goals in 13 appearances for the Mariners last season in the ISL, being one of the top scorers of the tournament and maintaining pretty good consistency with his final product, too.
However, Mohun Bagan will require their veteran striker to be much more ruthless in finishing off chances in the 2026-27 ISL campaign. He will not only look to have to consistently make clever runs into the box and get himself into prime positions to get at the end of chances, but will need to finish them off with more emphasis as well.
Maclaren will have a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders, and he needs to thrive under that pressure, being a consistent goal-scorer to help Mohun Bagan win matches and dominate in the ISL title race.

Alberto Rodriguez will continue to be a commanding figure in the Mohun Bagan backline for the 2026-27 ISL season, being kept for at least another campaign by the club because of how powerful he can be with his defensive contributions.
The Spanish centre-back might have a new centre-back partner in Rahul Bheke, but he will look to form a solid partnership with him and ensure that the Mariners are able to keep a clean defensive slate in the ISL.
Rodriguez will aim to keep playing his aggressive brand of defensive work, clattering opposition players with his tackles and being emphatic with his duel-winning capabilities.
