Giorgi joins the Juggernauts ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Odisha FC have completed the signing of 31-year-old Georgian midfielder Giorgi Aburjania ahead of the 2026-27 Indian Super League (ISL) season.
The experienced midfielder joins the Juggernauts after having last played for Saudi Arabian side Jeddah SC in the 2025-26 season.
The Georgian becomes Odisha FC’s third foreign recruitment after Manu Molina and Stephen Eze, as they build a strong squad for the 2026-27 season.

Aburjania began his senior career in Georgia with Metalurgi Rustavi before going on to represent FC Dila and Lokomotivi Tbilisi.
His performances earned him a move abroad in 2014 when he joined Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta. After two seasons in Cyprus, he moved to Spain and signed for Gimnàstic de Tarragona in 2016.
The midfielder later joined Sevilla FC, although he initially played for their reserve side, Sevilla Atlético. During his time in Spain, he also had loan spells with CD Lugo and Real Oviedo, while he spent the 2019-20 season in the Netherlands with FC Twente.
He then returned to Spain with FC Cartagena before making the move to Portugal. Aburjania joined Gil Vicente in 2021. He subsequently played for Turkish side Hatayspor and Portuguese club AVS before moving to Saudi Arabia to join Jeddah SC in September 2025.
At international level, Aburjania has represented Georgia across the U-17, U-19 and U-21 age groups. He made his senior debut in March 2016 in a friendly against Kazakhstan and has since earned 39 caps for the national senior team, scoring once.
A versatile midfielder, Aburjania is comfortable playing in a deeper role or further forward when required. His physical presence, experience and ability to operate in different midfield positions have been quite impactful for his teams.
Having played in Georgia, Cyprus, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, he brings considerable experience from different footballing environments.
Odisha FC’s summer transfer window so far

Odisha FC have been very intelligent in the summer transfer window so far making some good signings.
The Juggernauts have so far roped in Nihal Sudeesh and Imran Khan from Kerala Blasters and Chennaiyin FC respectively, however, Hugo Boumous, Carlos Delgado and Isak Ralte have departed from the club.
They have also acquired the services of Sachin Suresh from Kerala Blasters FC. Along with this they have signed Aashir Salim who has previously played for Qatari top tier club, Al-Sailiya SC. Along with this, Odisha FC have also roped in Arjun MM and Nandhakumar Sekar.
Odisha FC continued their busy summer transfer window further by acquiring the services of Manu Molina and Stephen Eze. Their latest recruitment comes in the form of Georgian international Giorgi Aburjania, who joins the club ahead of the 2026-27 season.
