The Juggernauts will launch a significant title offensive this season.

The latest edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) is just one step away. The league returns to action for the first time since May and will host the replay of last season’s final between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Mumbai City FC in the opening game. This year the total number of teams has increased to 13 with the inclusion of Mohammedan SC who have gained promotion to the top flight.

All the teams have prepared themselves in the best possible way with preseason tours, the Durand Cup, and some friendlies. Odisha FC impressed a lot under Sergio Lobera last season and recorded their best-ever finish in the league. The Juggernauts will want to continue building upon their heroics from last season and go one step ahead this time around.

Lobera hasn’t made any changes to his already handsome-looking squad other than the reunion with French midfielder Hugo Boumous.

The 29-year-old is the only overseas player to have arrived in Odisha during the summer. Odisha FC will begin their campaign by hosting Chennaiyin FC at home on 14th September.

Let us take a look at all the foreign players of Odisha FC.

Carlos Delgado

Carlos Delgado is among Odisha FC’s longest-serving players. The Spaniard has the fourth-highest number of appearances for the Juggernauts since their inception.

With 82 appearances under his belt, Delgado is Odisha’s second-longest-serving overseas player. His rigidity at the back and leadership attributes make him the perfect captain for Sergio Lobera’s side.

Mourtada Fall

Mourtada Fall joined Odisha FC in the summer of 2023 and has been a part of their side ever since. He is one of the most experienced defenders in the league and the upcoming edition will be his seventh season in India.

The Senegalese defender knows how to win titles and has won five titles in India. Fall has over 100 ISL appearances under his belt and is also the league’s highest-scoring defender with 15 goals to his name.

Ahmed Jahouh

Ahmed Jahouh is one of Sergio Lobera’s most trusted lieutenants. The Moroccan midfielder is possibly one of the finest players that the league has ever witnessed. Jahouh’s composure with the ball, pin-point ball distribution and game-reading abilities make him an undisputed starter under Lobera. Moreover, with 134 games and 12 goals, he is the league’s longest-serving overseas player.

Hugo Boumous

After his controversial exit from Mohun Bagan, Hugo Boumous is back in India and has rejoined forces with Sergio Lobera. The French midfielder has replaced the outgoing Cy Goddard.

Boumous has always been regarded as one of the best-attacking players to have ever graced the beautiful game in India. In 89 league appearances, the attacking midfielder has 63 goal contributions to his name.

Roy Krishna

Roy Krishna has set the stage on fire ever since he arrived in India in 2019. The Fijian is a born goalscorer who has great numbers to show for his efforts. He has scored goals wherever he has gone and Odisha FC are no different. Krishna has already the 50-goal mark in the ISL and is the league’s third record goalscorer. The 37-year-old scored 15 goals for Odisha FC last season and will want to improve his record this time around.

Diego Mauricio

The Brazilian is Odisha FC’s longest-serving foreign player with 87 appearances under his belt. Mauricio always has an eye for goal and is a big threat for any team up front.

His pace and attacking instincts are second to none. The Rio de Janeiro-born forward is Odisha’s all-time record goalscorer with 48 goals to his name in 87 games. Moreover, he has also won the ISL Golden Boot once.
