Bengaluru FC are all set to bolster their squad for the upcoming season and rope in Indian left back Mohamed Salah K on a free transfer on a multi-year deal, Khel Now can exclusively confirm. The 29-year-old was part of the Punjab FC side who finished 8th in their debut ISL campaign.

The Kerala-born defender featured 13 times last Indian Super League (ISL) season for the Shers keeping 2 clean sheets. Despite that, he earned plaudits for his ball-carrying abilities. A source close to the deal informed Khel Now, “Bengaluru FC are addressing the issues in their defense and had identified Mohamed Salah as their prime target.”

“Moreover, Mohamed Salah will be competing with Roshan Singh Naorem for the left-back spot. Bengaluru FC have made Jessel Carneiro available in the market and will sell him for the right offer,” the source said.

Furthermore, Khel Now also learned that Punjab FC offered Mohamed Salah K a contract extension but the player opted to sign for Bengaluru FC. “Punjab offered him an extension after his performance in the debut campaign but the Bengaluru option was irresistible on his part,” the source informed.

Bengaluru FC’s preparation

Bengaluru FC have already signed Rahul Bheke over the summer along with Jorge Pererya Diaz and Alberto Noguera over the summer. The club are looking for a major overhaul and have started working on the issues from last season.

Meanwhile, Khel Now earlier in the day exclusively confirmed the contract extension deal of Ryan Williams for two years with the Bengaluru-based club. The Blues have also announced the re-signing of goalkeeper Lalthuammawia from Odisha FC.

Earlier this month Khel Now had also exclusively revealed the contract extension of defender Aleksandar Jovanovic.

Bengaluru FC’s summer shopping is not over yet and the club is expected to make key signings in the market addressing the issues.
