The 26-year-old left-back has been a mainstay in the Blues starting lineup this season.

Indian Super League (ISL) club Bengaluru FC have reached an agreement with starting left-back Naorem Roshan Singh over a new contract. The new deal will see the 26-year-old player wearing the iconic Blues shirt until the 2028-29 season.

The Blues’ left back has been a mainstay in head coach Gerard Zaragoza’s plans this season. A player known for his tireless work-rate and marauding attacking runs on the field, tying down Roshan Singh to a new contract was always in the club’s best interests.

The Bengaluru FC left-back has been on a journey with the Blues since getting promoted to the first team during the 2020-21 ISL season. While only making two appearances during the 2020-21 ISL season, he did step up in the 2021-22 season making 17 appearances, even scoring his first goal for the Blues and setting up eight goals for his teammates.

While he did have a quiet second season during the 2022-23 campaign as he only contributed two assists in 20 ISL games, he established himself as the club’s starting left back. His influence within the Blues squad has only grown in stature since then as he has helped them win close games with his intangibles.

Gerard Zaragoza will be delighted with how his players responded in his first season as head coach of the Blues and will have a better grasp of what is required to upgrade his side. The Blues were competitive in all their games this season as they finished third in the ISL regular season standings and also made it all the way to the ISL Final.

However, the Bengaluru FC head coach will be determined to build on their momentum this season and re-signing Roshan to a new deal could possibly be one of the building blocks. Roshan Singh’s performances have always been reflective of Bengaluru FC’s progress and he will be determined to repay the club’s faith in the upcoming seasons.

As the club prepares for next season, Bengaluru FC will be hoping that their faith in Roshan through his new contract pays off. With the relentless nature of football and a goldfish memory, the goal for Zaragoza will be to win some silverware next season.
