The two teams played out a scintillating game in an exciting ISL clash.
Chennaiyin FC defeated NorthEast United FC in what was one of the best games of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season. The two teams started the high-stakes game at full tempo, and the intensity of the game was unlike any other we have seen this season so far.
Despite neither side scoring a goal in the first 45 minutes, it was all going to boil down in the second half. NorthEast started with a brilliant counter-attacking goal just after the drinks break and seemed to be solidifying their position.
Although Owen Coyle’s men had different plans. Akash Sangwan’s stunning goal gave Chennaiyin the lifeline that they desperately needed, before Ankit Mukherjee resurrected the Machans from the depths, and sent the Marina Arena on fire, to give Chennaiyin a hard-fought victory. Chennaiyin FC have mastered their comeback skills over the past few games.
