Chennaiyin FC kicked off the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season with a solid 3-2 win against Odisha FC in an away game at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on September 14, 2024. Here are Chennaiyin FC’s Indian player ratings for the game:

Chennaiyin FC

Samik Mitra – 7.5

Samik Mitra initially let go of Diego Mauricio’s penalty kick, diving the other side in the early stages of the match. He blocked the Odisha strikers throughout the game until Roy Krishna struck a goal in stoppage time.

Laldinliana Renthlei- 6.5

Laldinliana regulated the middle of the park well as the midfielder completed several passes and one gave a timely assist to Chima Chukwu.

PC Laldinpuia- 6.5

Landinpuia was solid in defense, not letting his goalkeeper work his gloves too much. However, he conceded a penalty in the earlier stages, which led to Diego Mauricio delivering the first goal of the match.

Mandar Rao Desai – 6.0

Mandar Rao Desai saved a cross from the Odisha striker and served as a solid defender until halftime, as Ankit Mukherjee replaced him.

Lalrinliana Hnamte – 5.5

He missed a free kick just before the first half, but was actively trying to carry the ball forward and relaying it to the forwards.

Farukh Chaudhary- 8.5

Farukh Chaudhary has been active since the very beginning of the game with the cross and tried a number of attempts to clear Odisha’s defense but was blocked. In the very initial stage of the second half, Farukh delivered back-to-back goals to help the Marina Machans take the lead.

Irfan Yadwad- 6.5

Yadwad had a headed attempt in the second half but it went off the target. He had held up the ball well until he was on the pitch, getting replaced after the second drinks break in the second half by the incoming Gurkirat Singh.

Ankit Mukherjee- 6.0

Ankit Mukherjee replaced Mandar Rao Dessai in the second half and tried his best in the defense.

Gurkirat Singh- 5.0

Came at the final stage of the match and only had a few attempts to strike, as the opponents were looking for an attempt to equalize the scores.

Vincy Barreto- 5.0

Vince entered the fray in the 87th minute with a mission to take the game far away from the Juggernauts. However, come full-time, he had to settle for only a few passes.
