Chennaiyin FC look to extend the winning momentum over Mohammedan SC

Marina Machans will be looking to win back-to-back games at the Marina Arena.

Mohammedan Sporting Club are rooted to the bottom of the Indian Super League 2025-26 teams and is on the brink of relegation. Their next game is against Chennaiyin FC, against whom they picked up four points last season.

With a sword hanging around their neck, the Kolkata club is in dire need of a win. Chennaiyin FC are not playing their best football at the moment, but can they continue their momentum from their last win?

The Stakes

Chennaiyin FC

Clifford Miranda’s side beat Sporting Club Delhi 1-0 last Friday to register their first home win of the season. They are currently 10th in the points table with 8 points from 8 ISL games. Having picked up only 2 wins, the CFC supporters want their side to become more consistent and build on their winning momentum.

Following the match against Mohammedan, Chennaiyin FC will be playing three tough away games against Jamshedpur FC, Punjab FC, and NorthEast United. Hence, a win on Tuesday will do the side a lot of good in the points table.

Mehrajuddin Wadoo’s side is staring down the barrel and is close to becoming the first team to get relegated from the ISL. Mohammedan SC are still seeking its first win, having already played 8 league games.

The big positive for the Kolkata club would be that they are coming fresh off a 1-1 draw at Bhubaneshwar against Odisha FC. Mohammedan would be eager to build on their draw as they set foot at the Marina Arena on Tuesday.

Chennaiyin FC – Elsinho suffered a knee injury and is out for the season. Laldinliana Renthlei is also injured and may not feature against Mohammedan SC.
