ISL clubs officially submit their proposal, awaits approval

ISL clubs form a new managing committee
The Indian Super League (ISL) clubs officially submit their offer to the AIFF including all the recommendations agreed upon during the meeting with the Sports Minister earlier this month.
The All-India Football Federation (AIFF) will now present the proposal to the general body for the approval before any official agreement can be signed.
What were the Sports Minister meeting’s key outcomes?
In the meeting earlier, the ISL club owners met Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya alongside Praful Patel and AIFF representatives.
In the meeting, it was decided that the clubs’ proposal would be finalised for the next four years. Going forward, each ISL club will pay the AIFF ₹1.1 crore per season as a fixed fee, which would be around ₹15.4 crore per season for the AIFF if all 14 clubs participate.
The meeting also included clubs seeking government support for stadium related expenses.
Why the clubs want to run the league?

The very aim of this proposal lies in the belief that the clubs themselves are best suited at this point to unlock ISL’s commercial potential moving forward.
The clubs feel that having a deeper understanding of the league and its market rather than any external operator gives them an edge and is better for the league’s future. The clubs also believe that their experience of operating the ISL 2025-26 season is a proof that they are capable of managing the competition effectively moving forward.
Several club officials also believe that managing the league’s operations internally within the clubs would be a great way of reducing cost while allowing the clubs to have a greater flexibility to do commercialisation around the competition.
ISL clubs form a new managing committee

The Indian Super League (ISL) clubs have formed a new managing committee which features representatives from Sporting Club Delhi, FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, NorthEast United FC and Mohun Bagan SG.
The committee will play a key role in coordinating with stakeholders and representing the interests of the clubs concerning the league’s future.
How much will ISL clubs pay AIFF under the new proposal?
Under the proposed structure, each club will pay AIFF ₹1.1 crore per season. If all 14 clubs participate, the federation will receive ₹15.4 crore annually in fixed revenue.
What is the difference between the club led model and Genius Sports model?
The club-led proposal would provide AIFF with ₹15.4 crore annually in fixed income, which is higher than the approximately ₹12.4 crore expected under the proposed Genius Sports framework.
