East Bengal’s ISL season has not started in a good manner.

East Bengal might have a shaky start to the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season, but they remain one of the biggest football clubs in the country. The Red & Gold Brigade are one of the oldest active clubs in the top division and boasts a rich history, where they won numerous prestigious trophies over the last century.

In 2023, the Emami Group acquired 77% of East Bengal’s shares to acquire majority ownership of the club. They have worked hard to build up a strong squad for the club over the last two seasons and also changed their head coach recently, roping in Oscar Bruzon.

East Bengal made some prominent signings in the 2024 summer transfer window thanks to Emami’s investment, bringing in players like Anwar Ali, Dimitrios Diamantakos and Madih Talal.

The Red & Gold Brigade also have a range of other sponsors who help improve their commercial revenue and their financial position. While they are yet to rope in a front-of-shirt sponsor (with Emami’s logo visible on front), East Bengal still have a range of different sponsors who are helping generate more money for the club and also helping out in other areas. Here we look at the sponsors of East Bengal.

Limca

The Emami group has been able to strike a partnership with the Coca-Cola company to sponsor East Bengal going forward. The Red & Gold Brigade confirmed Limca, which is a soft drink product of Coca-Cola, to be their ‘Official Hydration Partner’.

As part of this partnership, the Coca-Cola company provides their Limca drinks to East Bengal for their training sessions or the official matches for the players to refresh themselves with. East Bengal also advertises the drink during their home games as part of the agreement and makes it available for their supporters at the Salt Lake Stadium too.

Ampere

East Bengal recently announced their partnership with Electric Scooter company Ampere, which is operated by Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited. This company specializes in creating electric vehicles (EVs), which are considered to be more environmentally friendly and also help in cost-cutting measures.

Ampere are currently the ‘Official Two-wheeler EV Partner’ of East Bengal and the club will use this partnership to advertise their product, mostly during matches at the Salt Lake Stadium.

Trak-Only

East Bengal have not been able to rope in any official shirt manufacturers this season, unlike some of the other clubs. Mumbai City FC, of course, have Puma as their manufacturer and Mohun Bagan recently roped in Sketchers for that role.

The Red & Gold Brigade have an official ‘kitting partner’ in a local Kolkata-based company Trak-Only. It’s the responsibility of this brand to create the kits for the players and Trak-Only’s logo has been seen in East Bengal’s shirts in a few matches in the 2024-25 season too.

CK Birla Hospitals

An important sponsorship agreement that East Bengal were able to finalize was that with CK Birla Hospitals as their Official Healthcare partner. As part of this agreement, all of the Red & Gold Brigade player’s necessary treatments would be done at the CMRI Hospital which is nearby to the Salt Lake Stadium.

CMRI Hospital is a highly reputed one in Kolkata and this agreement is important as it allows East Bengal for extremely quick treatment of their players if any injuries happen in home matches or training sessions at the Salt Lake Stadium. The hospital is opposite of the stadium, ensuring that any injury scare can be treated immediately.

92.7 Big FM

In an attempt to improve the fan interaction and fan engagement program, East Bengal have also tied up with Radio stadium 92.7 Big FM to be their Official Voice Partner. This is done so that the club news or updates on matches can be found on that radio station.

As part of this agreement, there is also the possibility of interactive sessions being held between the Radio Jockeys and East Bengal players or members of the club occasionally and opportunities for fans to stay well informed on the club even on the radio.

BookMyShow

With East Bengal being a highly popular club in Kolkata, there is quite a heavy demand for tickets for their home matches. That is why the club have paired up with the ticketing platform BookMyShow as their Official Ticketing Partner. As part of this agreement, the online tickets for East Bengal matches can be purchased using the BookMyShow app or website.

The tickets have to be redeemed in specific areas of Kolkata with a physical ticket before a match, but at least this allows people to buy the tickets on their phones rather than having to travel a long way to do so.

Associate Sponsors

Of course, Emami is the principal Sponsor of East Bengal and their logo can be prominently seen on the front of their shirt. But the brand has also tied up East Bengal with a number of their sub-brands as ‘associate sponsors’ of the club.

This includes brands like BoroPlus (Antiseptic Cream), Emami’s Fair and Handsome Cream, their Mantra Masala brand (which produces different spices and Masalas) as well and the Emami Best Choice Soyabean oil. Emami’s Healthy & Tasty cooking oil, Emami Realty and Emami’s Zandu brand are also associate sponsors for East Bengal.
