Mohun Bagan players headline ISL 2023-24 Fans' Team of the Season

The fans have picked their choices after a stellar ISL season full of individual brilliance.
The 2023-24 season of the Indian Super League (ISL) kept the fans on the edge of their seats. It was an entertaining campaign where the clubs were highly competitive and the football action was breathtaking.
Furthermore, the campaign was marked by Indian players emerging as key figures for their respective ISL clubs.
With the dust settled on the season that went by, the fans got the chance to poll their favourites to determine the Fans’ Team of the Season.
The voting took place in four phases for defenders, midfielders, forwards and at the last, head coaches. The selections by the fans are a testament to their knowledge and understanding of a player’s impact on a match.
On that note, here is a look at the Fans’ Team of the Season for the 2023-24 ISL campaign:
Formation: 3-4-3
Goalkeeper – Vishal Kaith (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
The fans have picked Vishal Kaith as the best goalkeeper for the ISL 2023-24 season. The custodian was crucial in helping the Mariners win the ISL League Winners’ Shield. Kaith kept nine clean-sheets in the campaign and garnered 52.33% of fan votes.
Right Centre-Back – Rahul Bheke (Mumbai City FC)
Mumbai City went on to win the ISL title by emerging as the champions of the playoffs under Rahul Bheke’s captaincy.
The defender played a key role in defence, making 25 interceptions and 21 tackles and earning 35.79% of the fans’ votes.
Centre-Back – Hector Yuste (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
Hector Yuste brought solidity to Mohun Bagan’s defence, making it extremely hard for any opposition to score against the side.
The 36-year-old secured 54.56% of the fan votes after impressive performances for the Mariners across 24 appearances.
Left Centre-Back – Subhasish Bose (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
Subhasish Bose has been chosen as the captain of the Fans’ Team of the Season after the defender led Mohun Bagan SG to the League Winners’ Shield.
The skipper of the Mariners was a consistent performer, racking up 33 interceptions, 27 blocks, 77 clearances, 37 tackles and 48.42% of the fans’ votes.
Central Midfielder – Ahmed Jahouh (Odisha FC)
Ahmed Jahouh was a one-man army on several occasions for Odisha FC in the previous season, playing a central role in everything good that the side did.
The midfielder secured 55.32% votes from the fans after thoroughly entertaining them with his exceptional passing ability, vision and creativity.
Central Midfielder – Vibin Mohanan (Kerala Blasters)
Vibin Mohanan was among the best Indian players in the 2023-24 ISL season. He was a mainstay in the Kerala Blasters lineup and one of their consistent performers.
The 21-year-old Keralite secured 38.48% votes from the fans to earn his place in the Fans’ Team of the Season.
Right Midfielder – Madih Talal (Punjab FC)
Madih Tala was a one-man show during his debut ISL season and delivered multiple jaw-dropping performances for Punjab FC. He produced 10 assists, the most by a player in the league and secured a massive 65.50% of the fans’ votes.
Left Midfielder – Noah Sadaoui (FC Goa)
Noah Sadaoui was immense for FC Goa, finishing the 2023-24 season as their highest goalscorer with 11 goals and five assists. Fans were highly impressed by the Moroccan’s attacking drive, as he received 74.43% of the fans’ votes.
Right Winger – Dimitri Petratos (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
Dimitrios Petratos was key to Mohun Bagan winning the ISL League Winners’ Shield and finishing as runners-up in the 2023-24 season playoffs. He scored 10 goals and provided seven assists for the Mariners and got 68.75% of fans’ votes.
Left Winger – Manvir Singh (Mohun Bagan Super Giant)
Manvir Singh’s output from the flanks was highly impressive and played a key role in helping Mohun Bagan SG win the League Winners’ Shield. The attacker got 47.98% of the fans’ votes and earned a place in the Fans’ Team of the Season.
Striker – Dimitrios Diamantakos (Kerala Blasters)
Dimitrios Diamantakos left Kerala Blasters at the end of the 2023-24 season but not without scoring vital goals for the outfit.
The striker got 45.67% of the votes and also won the ISL Golden Boot with 13 goals, taking fewer minutes to score them than Roy Krishna, who also had 13 strikes.
