Odei Onaindia scored his debut ISL goal for FC Goa today.
FC Goa pulled off a fantastic 2-1 comeback win over their arch rivals Bengaluru FC at home in the final league match ahead of the international break. With this win, the Gaurs have climbed to the third spot on the table while Bengaluru FC’s top six aspirations have taken a major blow.
It was the away side who made a strong start to the game after Shivaldo got the better of FC Goa’s backline and opened the scoring with just two minutes into the game. The youngster had another opportunity to score just a few minutes later, but his shot went wide.
Noah Sadaoui registered the first attempt of the game for FC Goa by taking a shot from outside the box. After numerous attempts, FC Goa finally found their way back into the game with an equalizer from Odei Onaindia.
The home side were hungry for a win and started the second half on the right note and amidst that, Suresh Singh Wangjam was shown a red card as the Blues were down to ten men. Carlos Martinez forced Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to make a crucial save before Borja tried his luck from a long way out.
And just when it seemed that both sides would share spoils, Borja played a beautiful across the face of goal which was executed to perfection by Boris Singh in the final minutes of regulation time and secured all three points for his side.
