The Blues will be eager to win their second ISL title.

The grand finale of the Indian Super League is drawing near, with Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Bengaluru FC going head-to-head on April 12, 2025. The Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) Stadium in Kolkata will serve as the battleground for this final showdown.

Bengaluru FC enter the final with the ambition of winning their second Indian Super League title, while Mohun Bagan Super Giant, who have already won the league shield, will be determined to achieve a league double by winning the ISL Cup.

Bengaluru FC have an interesting squad combining the enthusiasm of young talents like Vinith Venkatesh, Namgyal Bhutia, Lalrem­tluanga Fanai and the stability of seasoned players like Sunil Chhetri, Rahul Bheke, and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. The Blues squad is further enhanced by their impactful foreign players like Ryan Williams, Edgar Mendez, and Jorge Pereyra Diaz, who have helped them navigate through tough moments this season.

Right Back: Namgyal Bhutia

Despite stepping in for an injured Nikhil Poojary, Namgyal Bhutia has seamlessly adapted to the right-back role, most notably providing two crucial assists against FC Goa in the semi-final. In his 8 appearances, he had 2 clean sheets and created 2 scoring chances, demonstrating his effectiveness in both defense and attack, making him a perfect fit for the RB position.

Centre Back : Rahul Bheke

Rahul Bheke’s defensive skills, shown by 15 blocks, 26 interceptions, 80 recoveries, and 121 clearances and 10 clean sheets, makes him a strong contender for center-back. His added threat in attack with 3 goals, and his history of scoring title-winning goals in ISL finals, further solidify this possibility that he would be in the starting 11.

Centre Back : Chinglensana Singh Konsham

Chinglensana Singh’s experience and strong defensive numbers, including 66 recoveries and 72 clearances, make him a logical choice for center-back. Despite having the capability of a midfielder, his defensive attributes are best utilized in a central defensive role.

Left Back: Naorem Roshan Singh

In 27 appearances this season, Naorem Roshan Singh has proven to be one of the best performers by a left-back. His contributions include 9 clean sheets, 1 goal, 3 assists, and 27 chances created, alongside strong defensive numbers with 83 clearances, 110 recoveries, and 28 interceptions. This impressive all-around performance make him the obvious choice to start at left-back

Centre midfield: Pedro Capo

Pedro Capo who is an experienced foreign player, has the key qualities required for a strong midfield presence. His defensive work rate, evident in the semi-final against FC Goa, and his reliable passing accuracy make him a well-suited candidate to start in the heart of the team.

Centre midfield: Lalrem­tluanga Fanai

Fanai’s impactful performance after replacing an injured Suresh Singh Wangjam in the 31st minute of the away leg of the semi-final against FC Goa was characterized by effective dribbling and long balls, ensuring that Bengaluru FC didn’t feel the loss of a key midfielder which make him a deserving starter in the final.

Centre midfield: Alberto Noguera

Alberto Noguera’s 5 goals and 4 assists, along with his impressive 36 chances created, highlight his attacking midfield capabilities. His ability to win 176 duels further solidify why Noguera should be starting in that crucial creative role.

Striker: Edgar Mendez

Throughout his 26 appearances, Edgar Mendez has consistently posed a threat in the attacking third. With 9 goals, 4 assists, 26 shots on target, and 95 touches in the opposition box across 26 games – clearly show his offensive capabilities. Combined with his strong record in duels (130 won), he is the perfect choice to start as the left winger

Left Winger: Jorge Pereyra Diaz

Diaz has been the soul of the Blues this season and has also contributed with three goals and four assists in 17 games. He has been a pitbull in attack for Gerard Zaragoza’s men with his relentless pressing and attacking runs to stretch opposition defenders out of position.
