ISL 2024-25: Full updated squad of Bengaluru FC
The Blues have roped in three star players of Mumbai City FC before going into this edition of ISL.
Bengaluru FC will attempt to resume their Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 campaign where they left off in the recently concluded Durand Cup. Definitely, not from where they lost to the Mariners in the knockouts, but from how they played in the group-stage matches. From their 2017–18 season debut, the Blues have a constant presence in the ISL.
Nevertheless, the Blues experienced a difficult last season, as they finished 10th in the league table, even though they made managerial adjustments in the middle of the season. Now that Gerard Zaragoza is in charge, the Blues will undoubtedly solidify their place in the league and be one of the teams vying for a top-six finish.
In preparation for the upcoming season, both the club administration and coach Zaragoza have made a lot of significant acquisitions; the Durand Cup was a prime example of how these additions have begun to bear fruit.
The three players from Mumbai City FC—Jorge Pereyra Diaz, Alberto Noguera, and Rahul Bheke—for the second spell have been signed by BFC in this summer transfer window.
Gerard Zaragoza didn’t stop there; he also acquired the services of Lalthuammawia Ralte and Mohammed Salah from Odisha FC and Punjab FC to bolster the good mix of Indian and foreign players within the squad. Ralte was one of the improving and emerging players last season, and with his services in hand, the Blues will look ahead to make a difference under the posts. To stretch the experience of foreign players, Bengaluru FC signed the Spanish defensive midfielder Pedro Capó on a one-year deal.
The club, ahead of the ISL 2024-24 campaign, has also acquired the services of the 34-year-old Spanish forward Edgar Mendez, who played for several clubs in the Spanish second division, including Atletico Ciudad, Betis, Union Deportivo Belilla, and Almeria. With some big names attached already, the club is looking ahead to turning its misfortunes and maintaining a consistent spot in the league table from the very beginning of the season.
