The Blues will be keen to exact revenge for their 3-0 loss in the reverse fixture against FC Goa.
Indian Super League (ISL) club Bengaluru FC head coach Gerard Zaragoza is pulling out all the stops ahead of their matchweek 12 clash against FC Goa. Despite a mixed run of recent results in recent weeks, the Spaniard emphasized that the team’s morale remains high as they face a formidable opponent at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
A match that the Blues will be determined to win given the result of the reverse fixture, promises fireworks on Saturday. Ahead of the enthralling encounter, Gerard Zaragoza dismissed any concerns that exist over recent inconsistencies during a recent press conference.
Gerard Zaragoza wants his men to take control
With an intense encounter ahead, the Spaniard pointed out that his team is still performing within their set benchmarks. Building on the previous result, Gerard Zaragoza stated, “The mood in the camp is very good. We are on top of the table, and we don’t see this as a bad period. We evaluate our performance in blocks of four games. If we win tomorrow, we’ll have nine points from this block, which is what we planned for.”
While fielding questions about the existing defensive frailties within the Blues backline in recent matches, Gerard Zaragoza reiterated that his men were focussing on the team’s overall control of games. Gerard Zaragoza stated, “Football isn’t just about defense or attack. It’s about everything. Of course, we’re not happy conceding these goals, but as long as we win and entertain, we’re on the right track.”
The Blues will be looking to make a statement against FC Goa
A team that handed the Blues a 3-0 defeat earlier this season, are FC Goa. The Gaurs have been undefeated since that game at the Fatorda Stadium under head coach Manolo Marquez. However, Zaragoza expressed confidence in playing at Sree Kanteerava and getting the result they wanted.
Gerard Zaragoza stated, “They are a good team, but they are coming to the Kanteerava. It’s too difficult to play here. Our supporters make it a fortress.” He added that the crowd’s energy plays a pivotal role in spurring his men to perform at their very best.
Early kick-off time no worry for the Blues
Ahead of the early 5:00 PM kickoff game, Gerard Zaragoza was quick to dismiss the change that will affect the team and ensured that they would adapt quickly to win the game.
Gerard Zaragoza stated, “I’m sure that, I hope that the supporters will come like the last matches that we played at home. I want them to, that they make a party and our players will be there for the party. And I’m sure that it will be a nice environment and we will see another good night.”
As Bengaluru FC gear up for what promises to be another thrilling contest against FC Goa, a win will be their main goal. All three points will ensure that the Blues remain within the coveted top-six playoff spots.
With the focus remaining on extending their dominance at home, a win over Marquez and his men will be a perfect evening for Zaragoza.
