As the Indian Super League (ISL) heads into the 2025–26 season, attention turns once again to the clubs and the stadiums they call home.

These grounds are more than just match venues; they are where teams build identity, fans create atmosphere, and home advantage truly comes into play. From historic footballing hubs to modern stadiums, each venue has its own story to tell.

In this article, we look at every ISL club and the home grounds where they will play the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL).

Mohun Bagan Super Giant

Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium), Kolkata

The Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK), better known as the Salt Lake Stadium, is the home ground of Mohun Bagan Super Giant. As one of the most iconic venues in Indian football, the stadium has long been at the heart of Kolkata’s rich football culture.

Inaugurated in 1984, India’s largest football stadium has hosted several landmark tournaments over the decades, including the Pre-World Cup Tournament in 1985, multiple editions of the Super-Soccer tournament, the SAF Games in 1987, the Jawaharlal Nehru International Gold Cup in 1995, and the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017. Its legacy is built on big matches, packed stands, and unforgettable moments.

East Bengal FC

Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium), Kolkata

The Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK), better known as the Salt Lake Stadium, serves as the home ground for two of India’s most historic clubs, East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant. East Bengal FC will play their home matches here in VYBK Stadium

Salt Lake Stadium welcomed some of world football’s biggest names. Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn played his farewell match here against Mohun Bagan, while the three-time FIFA World Cup champions Argentina featured at the venue in a 2011 international friendly against Venezuela. Few stadiums in the country can match the history, scale, and atmosphere that VYBK continues to offer.

Northeast United FC

Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati

The Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati is the home of Northeast United FC and has become a key football venue in the region. While primarily used for football, the stadium has also hosted several athletic events over the years, underlining its importance as a multi-sport facility in Assam.

The stadium gained national and international recognition when it served as one of the host venues for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. Over the seasons, it has welcomed several well-known names in world football, with players such as Asamoah Gyan, Simao Sabrosa, Joan Capdevila, Khassa Camara, and Didier Zokora all featuring here in Northeast United colours, making it a memorable stage for Highlanders fans.

FC Goa

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa (Fatorda)

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, widely known as the Fatorda Stadium, is the home of FC Goa and one of the most familiar venues in the Indian Super League. Built in 1989, the stadium has long been a central hub for football in Goa and continues to play a key role in the league’s identity.

The venue was one of the six stadiums selected to host matches during the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, further adding to its reputation on the national stage. Fatorda also holds a unique place in ISL history, having hosted more finals than any other stadium, with championship matches from the 2015, 2019–20, 2020–21, 2021–22, and 2022–23 seasons played here.

Mumbai City FC

The Mumbai Football Arena, located within the Andheri Sports Complex, serves as a vibrant hub for football in the city. Since ISL 2016, it has been the home of Mumbai City FC, two-time League Shield winners and one-time ISL Cup champions, giving fans an intimate and energetic matchday experience.

The arena has also hosted some of the league’s biggest moments, including the 2018–19 ISL final between FC Goa and Bengaluru FC, cementing its reputation as one of India’s key footballing venues.

Jamshedpur FC

JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur

The JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur is the proud home of Jamshedpur FC, the League Shield winners of the 2021–22 ISL season. Since making their debut in the fourth edition of the league, the club has turned this stadium, the largest in the city, into a fortress for its fans.

The venue has also played host to some memorable international and exhibition matches, including a 2006 clash between Brazil’s Sao Paulo FC and Kolkata’s Mohammedan Sporting Club, adding to its rich sporting legacy in the region.

Kerala Blasters FC

Kerala Blasters are set to call Kozhikode their home this season, marking a shift from their traditional base in Kochi. The move comes largely as a cost-saving measure. Signs indicate that the EMS Stadium in Kozhikode was significantly more economical than Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which was not match-ready.

For the Blasters, the shift represents both a practical decision and a fresh chapter in a city eager to embrace top-flight football once again.

Chennaiyin FC

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai is the home ground of two-time ISL Cup winners Chennaiyin FC. It’s a multi-purpose venue that has hosted football, athletics and cricket over the years.

For fans, the stadium has been a place of excitement, with thrilling matches and some big names taking the field, including Alessandro Nesta, Marco Materazzi, Elano, André Schembri, Mikaël Silvestre, Stiven Mendoza, and Eric Djemba-Djemba. Every game here has been a chance to witness football history up close.

Mohammedan SC

Kishore Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata

The Kishore Bharati Krirangan (KBK) in Kolkata is a multi-purpose stadium that received a fresh lease of life following its restoration and renovation in 2021. Since then, it has steadily re-established itself as an important football venue in the city.

The stadium is the home ground of Mohammedan Sporting Club and has regularly hosted matches in the Durand Cup and the Calcutta Football League. However, for this season, they are planning to play their home games from JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.

Bengaluru FC

Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru

The Sree Kanteerava Stadium is the home of Bengaluru FC, who joined the Indian Super League in the 2017–18 season. A multi-purpose venue, it has become a familiar stage for the Blues’ home matches over the years.

What truly sets the stadium apart is its atmosphere. The passionate West Block Blues, Bengaluru FC’s loyal supporters, bring constant noise and energy to the stands, creating an intimidating environment for visiting teams. With the fans right behind them, the stadium has witnessed several memorable nights as Bengaluru FC have drawn strength from the unwavering support of their home crowd.

Punjab FC

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is home to Punjab FC in the Indian Super League, the stadium has long been a landmark venue in Indian sport. Over the years, it has hosted major events such as the Asian Athletics Championships in 1989 and the Commonwealth Games in 2010, highlighting its importance beyond football.

The ground also played a key role during the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, when large crowds turned up in support of the Indian men’s U-17 team as they played their home matches here. Football fans have also witnessed several global stars grace the pitch, including Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Carlos, John Arne Riise, and Florent Malouda, making it a venue rich in memories and big-match moments.

Odisha FC

Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar is the home ground of ISL side Odisha FC. Established in 1978, the Kalinga Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located at the heart of the city of Bhubaneswar.

The venue has witnessed some memorable moments in Indian football like, 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, 2022 SAFF U-20 Championships and 2023 Intercontinental Cup.

Sporting Club Delhi

Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi

Sporting Club Delhi will play their home matches in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium along with Punjab FC. The new side from Delhi will look to create good memories in the stadium and make an instant impact in the Indian Super League.
