Lamgoulen Hangshing has been one of the best performers for the I-League outfit.

The Indian football clubs are already shifting their attention towards next season as they look to strengthen their squads. Indian Super League outfit Hyderabad FC, who are going for a major haul, have reportedly made their first domestic signing ahead of the summer window, adding a seasoned defender to their squad.

Khel Now can confirm that Hyderabad FC have completed the signing of Lamgoulen Hangshing. The right back’s contract is expiring with Churchill Brothers this summer, and the Nizams have acted swiftly. Three other ISL clubs were also interest in the talented defender.

Gogou has signed a one-year contract with Hyderabad FC, with the paperwork already done. There is also an option to trigger a one-year extension to his contract based on how the 2025-26 season goes.

Lamgoulen Hangshing started his career with Bengaluru FC’s B team. The defender moved to Churchill Brothers in 2018 and has been a part of the Goan side since. Primarily playing as a right back, Gogou can also play as a right midfielder and a centre back, when asked by his team.

Overall, the 27-year-old has played more than 100 games for Churchill Brothers since first playing for them in the 2018-19 I-League season. Owing to his tenure and experience, the player was also given the captain’s armband.

Gogou played 21 I-League games for his club in the 2024-25 season, scoring 2 goals and an assist while keeping 3 clean sheets in their stellar campaign. Leading by example in terms of professionalism, the defender just picked up two yellow cards in the entire league campaign.

The upcoming 2025-26 season will be Gogou’s first foray in the Indian Super League. Having already shown his talents in the I-League, expectations will be high as the defender could even be in contention for a national team berth if he performs well.
