The midfielder was subbed off in the game against Punjab FC due to an injury
Thangboi Singto’s Hyderabad FC takes on Chennaiyin FC in their highly anticipated home opener of the Indian Super League (ISL) at the GMC Balayogi Stadium on 1st October 2024, at 7:30 PM IST.
Hyderabad FC fueled with the energy of their home crowd, will be eager to make a strong statement in their opening match. The Nawabs have been working tirelessly to make new signings which include talented foreigners as well as experienced Indian players.
Several players like Parag Shrivas, Arshdeep Singh, Lenny Rodriguez and others were signed on the deadline day. One such player was Ayush Adhikari played for Chennaiyin FC in the previous season.
Ayush had been in impressive form ever since he joined Hyderabad FC but in the game against Punjab FC, Ayush Adhikari had to be subbed off following an injury in the second half.
Hyderabad FC coach Thangboi Singto had addressed this in a conversation with the media personnel earlier today.

“Yeah, Ayush Adhikari, today trained along with the team. I was just talking to him after the training. He said that coach, I feel okay. But will it be risky to play him tomorrow? It’s a 50-50 situation now. So, I need to go back to the medical team by tomorrow morning. But definitely, we don’t want to risk, it because he has a chance of aggravating the injury. But there are enough players at the positions. If he’s not there, somebody will step in for him,” Thangboi Singto assured.
About defensive errors and converting chances in the final third
Hyderabad FC have faced setbacks in their recent matches against Punjab FC and Bengaluru FC due to costly defensive errors. Despite their overall performance, the Yellow and Black army have struggled to maintain a consistent defensive backline leading to crucial chances that have resulted in goals against.
These defensive errors have proven to be costly mistakes that have pushed Hyderabad FC to the bottom of the table and contributed to their losses.
“Defensively, yeah. Some of the goals we conceded would have been better. Alex Saji was the first one to accept that. Now we have signed Stefan Sapic, whom we lovingly call Safa. Hopefully, he creates a new good partnership with Alex Saji or another centre-back. We also have Alan Paulista now. So that partnership should work as well,” Thangboi Sinto said.
Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, Hyderabad FC has been unable to convert their chances into goals, The Boss has acknowledged the issue and expressed their intention to address it by acquiring a new striker and implementing a rotation policy within the squad.
“We’re trying to bring another striker. Hopefully, that works, And if these two strikers are there, it will depend on maybe we rotate or maybe we play together. So, a little bit more experience for him when he comes in. And hopefully, we’ll add more goals than what happened last season.
“I think it’s about, again, not easy to score goals. But to win games, you need goals. So, we’re trying to look at players who can come in and contribute on time. Once they come in, hopefully, tomorrow, let’s see how it goes. But I believe that once we play a tough game, it’s going to be. Then we have a better stay up front. And better solidity in the back.” Thangboi Singto quipped.
“The only thing we can do is keep working hard. Train better. Plan better. And hopefully, we get good results. Football is all about churning out results. If you don’t play well, maybe you still earn points. They say that a good or a competitive team, even if they win or they play badly, they still maybe get one point. The result will show,” Thangboi Singto concluded.
