ISL 2025-26: Inter Kashi rope in Lithuanian National Team striker Nauris Petkevičius

The striker has made four appearances for the Lithuanian National Team
The newly-promoted Inter Kashi FC are undergoing a complete overhaul in their debut Indian Super League campaign squad as they have completed the signing of the 25-year-old Lithuanian National Football team striker, Nauris Petkevičius, from FK Sūduva Marijampolė.
The signing of the Lithuanian striker comes shortly after the signings of Spanish goalkeeper Lluís Tarrés, midfielder Sergio Llamas, and winger Alfred Planas, along with defender David Humanes from their sister club Inter Club d’Escaldes, making Nauris the fifth foreigner of the I-League champions’ foreign contingent.
At the age of 25, Nauris has already made a total of 154 appearances across various European leagues and has scored a total of 32 goals. Along with netting in goals, the striker has also delivered 13 assists, providing Inter Kashi FC with the perfect blend of experience, attacking intent and youthful flair, in their pragmatic game-winning approach.
Nauris will be a major boost to the Inter Kashi FC offensive unit

Nauris Petkevičius is a 25-year-old striker from Kaunas, Lithuania. He started his professional footballing career in the B team of a local club, Stumbras FC, where he played during his U17 days. In 2016, he was promoted to the senior team, and just a year later, he received his first national team call-up for Lithuania U17.
Later, he moved to the French Fifth-tier, where he played for the LOSC Lille B team. After returning to Lithuania, where he played for FC Hegelmann, he moved to Belgium, where he signed for Charleroi FC before being loaned out to Beerschot FC and Zalgiris. It was during this period that he became one of the regulars of the Lithuanian U19 squad, featuring in a total of 12 matches.
In June 2022, he got his call-up to the Lithuanian National Football team and has since then made four appearances so far, with two each coming from the UEFA Nations League and the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. After brief stints at his former club Hegelmann and FA Siauliai, the striker joined his current club FK Sudua in early 2025.
Nauris, with around a decade of experience in the European atmosphere, has now joined as the fifth foreigner in the Inter Kashi FC roster and is all set to make his first mark in Asian football.
What does Nauris bring to the table for the I-League champions?
With a proven goal-scoring record in European Football, Nauris can act as a reliable offensive focal point under the plans of Antonio Lopez Habbas, who could convert limited chances into goal opportunities. With the ability to play with both feet, he can be useful in tight spaces, making him an unpredictable threat to the opponent’s backline.
With experience playing in the intense, high-pressure European conditions, Nauris can be a valuable asset for Inter Kashi due to his superior understanding of tactical and physical demands. Standing at 1.82 metres tall, Nauris also brings in the traits of physicality required in Indian conditions. The Lithuanian could also turn handy during aerial duels and set pieces, an area in which he has excelled in his career.
In short, if Nauris could quickly adapt to the Indian conditions and combine well with his fellow strikers, he could turn out to be one of the brightest sparks of the Indian Super League 2025-26, and potentially turn out to be the guiding light of the newly promoted side in their debut campaign.
