Inter Kashi aim to bounce back as they face a struggling NorthEast United side

The Highlanders look to break a five-match winless run

Inter Kashi will take their first flight to Guwahati to face off against NorthEast United for their next game in the Indian Super League 2025-26 season. The game was earlier supposed to be a home game for Inter Kashi, but has been shifted to the capital city due to some unavoidable circumstances.

The visitors have enjoyed a better campaign in comparison to their counterparts and will be hopeful to get back to winning ways come Sunday.

Let us take a look at how things stand.

The Stakes

Inter Kashi

Inter Kashi has had an average start in the Indian Super League (ISL) so far. They have shown brilliance, but only in bits and pieces. Antonio Lopez Habas’ side is lacking consistency. They arrive in this game on the back of a defeat after winning two games on the trot. The visitors take the eighth spot on the table with eleven points from three wins, two draws and four defeats in nine outings so far.

NorthEast United FC

NorthEast United FC held a stalemate against Punjab FC

NorthEast United FC, on the other hand have a lot to think about. Juan Pedro Benali’s brand of football has not worked at all for the Highlanders, and this is evident from their on-field performances. The hosts have lost five games so far, including four defeats in just the last five games. They are winless in their last five games, with their last win dating back to March.

Injury and Team News

NorthEast United will miss the services of Ankith Padmanabhan who sustained a shoulder dislocation in the last game along with skipper Michel Zobaco. Meanwhile, Mario Barco remains unavailable for Inter Kashi.

Head-to-head

This will be the first meeting between the two sides.

Predicted Line-up

Inter Kashi (4-4-2)

Shubham (GK); Sandip, Nishchal, Gahlot, Nishu; Asif, Vaz, Llamas, Prasanth K; Planas, Ashish

NorthEast United FC (4-1-4-1)

Players to watchout

Alfred Planas has been one of the star performers of the ongoing season. Planas has been the main man for Inter Kashi with his creativity and impactful offensive attributes. The Spaniard has racked up five goal contributions for the ISL debutants, the most by any player. He has scored four goals and has one assist to show for his efforts.

Jithin MS (NorthEast United FC)

Jithin MS

Jithin MS will be the man to watch out for the Highlanders in this clash. It hasn’t been an ideal season for the forward, but he can harm any opposition on his day of no error. Jithin’s blistering pace and ability to take on defenders will come in very handy for the home side against Inter Kashi. If he gets going, the defenders will find it very tough to catch him.

Did You Know?

  • This will be the first ISL game between the two sides.
  • This fixture is technically a home game for Inter Kashi
