Jamshedpur FC players make emotional appeal to TATA Group following ISL exit

Jamshedpur FC have decided to exit ahead of the new ISL 2026-27 season stating that they will not be taking part in the next season’s Indian Super League (ISL) and look to close down their football operations.
After the decision made by the TATA’s higher authority the social media has sparked up due to the sudden exiy of a club like Jamshedpur FC which has a rich culture and an exciting fanbase to support Indian Football.
Following this, the Jamshedpur FC players have issued a video sharing their thoughts regarding this matter on social media and urged the TATA’s high authority to reconsider their decision for the sake of Indian Football.
Appeal to the TATA Group by the Jamshedpur FC players
Jamshedpur FC have withdrawn their name after playing in the Indian Super League for nine long seasons, as the Men of Steel have officially announced their decision ahead of the new season.
Jamshedpur FC have continued to play in the Durand Cup 2026, but they have announced their decision after the expiry of the participation fee payment deadline.
After Inter Kashi paid their first instalment only the Red Miners were the one who remained on the list, and ahead of the new ISL season, they made up their mind.
In a heartfelt appeal, several Jamshedpur FC players, took to social media and shared a video urging the club’s top management to reconsider its decision.
The players appealed to the higher authorities to reverse the move, expressing their hope that the Men of Steel will be allowed to continue competing in Indian football.
Jamshedpur FC defender Pratik Chaudhari said, “Hello everyone, it’s been a shock for us since yesterday when we heard the news, when we were told that the club is going to shut operations and after this, we won’t continue after the Durand Cup. So, we were confused, obviously we were angry, we were worried about the future, we still are.”
“I think it was very unexpected because it is Tata’s because we’ve always trusted the name, trusted the brand because we as individuals, as players, everyone are professionals and everyone had offers from many different clubs but everyone here chose Tata’s because it’s a brand, there is a trust, there’s a trust thing that comes in when you hear Tata’s.”
“This is a very serious matter. So, on behalf of all the players, we would just like to appeal to the higher management of Tata Group, please do rethink about this, reconsider the situation. Don’t let this be the final whistle for Jamshedpur FC.” he concluded with.
Pronay Halder also shared a message, “As a senior player with folded hands, I request the head of the department of Tata Group, this legacy from Tata Football Academy, the youth, and the platform is a good opportunity which can compete in the Indian top league.”
Players fear a major setback for the Indian football
With the emotional video from the Jamshedpur FC players after the shocking news emerged, the news shocked everyone and left every player and staff member in a very vacant state, and they are also worried about their future as they all asked the TATA Group to rethink & reconsider their decision.
The players also highlighted that many players trust the legacy of Jamshedpur FC club & TATA’s legacy, as many players rejected other offers to stay with the club. But right now, after the emotional video, all eyes will be on what happens in the coming future.

In the wake of Jamshedpur FC’s exit from the Indian Super League, several Indian footballers have voiced their concern over the club’s uncertain future.
Among them, the India international Nikhil Poojary took to Instagram, expressing his deep concern over the current situation and highlighting the need for stability in Indian football.
“One day we celebrate Brazil playing in our country. The next players wake up to the news that another club is shutting down it’s first team football operations. It’s hard not to wonder where we are really headed.”
Mohun Bagan defender and Indian National Team player Rahul Bheke also came in support and shared a message of Instagram.
“This is a painful moment for Indian football. A club like Jamshedpur FC, built with stability, professionalism, and strong backing, stepping away from the ISL is more than just a club decision, it’s a significant blow to the ecosystem of Indian football.”
“Behind every club are players, coaches, staff, support personnel, and families whose livelihoods are affected. These decisions have a far-reaching impact.”
“I sincerely hope the people involved reconsider this decision, because clubs like Jamshedpur FC are important for the future of Indian football. The game needs stability, investment, and long-term commitment, not more uncertainty.”
BFC owner Parth Jindal also expressed his concern over the matter.
“It’s unfortunate that Jamshedpur FC has decided to withdraw from the Indian Super League (ISL). We at Bengaluru FC are more determined than ever to get Indian football to the place where it deserves to be.”
“All of us clubs in Indian football will work hard for the players and for the fans of this beautiful game. There is plenty of talent, and now that the clubs are running the league, it will definitely be much more sustainable and become a much better property.”
“The league will grow organically, and I could not be more excited about its future. Last year, even in a curtailed league, stadium attendance increased everywhere, showing how important local clubs are for the development of the game. No clubs, no national team can be formed. Clubs are the backbone of football everywhere.”
