The Indian Super League (ISL) returned to action earlier today with Bengaluru FC playing out a goalless draw against Odisha FC followed by a 1-1 draw between Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters at the JRD Tata complex in Jamshedpur.

The Blasters kickoff proceedings before Marko Leskovic produced the first chance of the game, but his shot went well over the post. Rei Tachikawa and Javier Siverio combined well to create Jamshedpur FC’s first chance of the game, but the Spaniard couldn’t keep his attempt on target.

And then the visitors broke the deadlock as Justine Ojoka set up Dimitrios Diamantakos for his 13th goal of the season and put his side 0-1 up midway through the first half. The Red Miners responded with an equalizer just before the half-time whistle.

Elsinho played a pinpoint pass towards Javier Siverio who made no mistake in putting it past Karanjit Singh and brought his side back on level terms before Rei tested the keeper from a shot outside the box before the referee signaled half-time.

Imran Khan came up with the first chance of the second half but couldn’t guide his shot on target. Rahul KP’s shot went wide before Komal Thatal tried his luck from outside the box. With this, the Kerala Blasters have qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive season while Jamshedpur FC still have a lot of work to do.
