ISL: Jorge Pereyra Diaz returns to Mumbai City FC ahead of 2025-26 season

The Argentine striker moves to Mumbai City after a year with Bengaluru FC
Mumbai City FC are in the process of strengthening their lineup, having made a few key moves in the transfer window. The Islanders are actively working on building a strong squad, with major additions already beginning. Their latest addition is Argentine Talisman Jorge Pereyra Diaz, who reunites with the Islanders after a year with Bengaluru FC
During his previous stint with Mumbai City FC, the striker made 20 appearances, scoring 11 goals, 7 assists, and creating 35 chances. Now, he returns to familiar territory, reuniting with Head Coach Petr Kratky and a system he is familiar with.
The striker began his Indian Super League journey with Kerala Blasters in 2021–22, had a short spell on loan at Platense in Argentina, and returned stronger with his joining at Mumbai City FC in 2022–23. After a stellar season with the Islanders, he made the move to Bengaluru FC in the previous season.
During his time at Bengaluru FC, he contributed 3 goals and 4 assists in 18 games, while also creating 23 chances. His ability to step up in key moments proved crucial in the final third. With these statistics, he once again proved that he’s the kind of player who delivers when it matters most.
How will Jorge Pereyra Diaz fit into the Mumbai City FC system?

With plenty of playmakers in their lineup, Mumbai City’s next big move had to be a striker who can actually finish the chances created. The signing of Jorge Pereyra Diaz is perfect for the Islanders’ Setup.
With creative chances from agile players like Lallianzuala Chhangte, Vikram Partap Singh, and Brandon Fernandes in their line-up, Mumbai City FC will benefit from Pereyra Diaz, who can consistently finish chances in the final third.
Having played under head coach Petr Kratky and the team before, Pereyra Diaz’s experience with the Islanders makes him a natural fit for Mumbai City FC. As he is already familiar with his system, this would make the transition to the team easy and seamless.
