Mohun Bagan is closer to the ISL shield with this victory over Kerala.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant leapfrog past host Kerala Blasters winning the high-scoring encounter 4-3 in the Indian Super League (ISL) on Wednesday. Albanian striker Armando Sadiku scored two goals while Deepak Tangri scored the third goal in the 68th minute. Jason Cummings put the final nail in the coffin for the away side.

For the home side, Vibin Mohanan and star striker Diamantakos scored the two goals but unfortunately, that was not enough to propel the yellow brigade to any points in the fixture.

With the virtue of this win, Mohun Bagan finds themselves in the second position behind Mumbai City with the same number of points but have played a game less compared to their counterpart.

Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters FC’s hopes of winning the ISL shield are almost mathematically zero. The Kerala side will stay in the 5th position in the table and are expected to at least qualify for the playoffs yet again.

The race for the ISL shield will go right down the wire and the teams who will be able to hold on to their nerves and produce consistent results for the last few ISL games will get the prized asset.
