Mohun Bagan Super Giant have announced the signing of Indian full-back Abhishek Singh Tekcham on a four-year deal from Punjab FC for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Upon signing for the ISL Champions, Abhishek Tekcham said:

“I had offers from several reputed clubs across the country. But I turned all of them down to join Mohun Bagan Super Giant because, in my eyes, this is the number one club in India. Playing for Mohun Bagan means experiencing what it feels like to be a champion. It means winning trophies. It means chasing dreams.

The club’s consistent record of lifting silverware in the iconic green-and-maroon jersey is what pulled me here. This club builds teams with one goal — to become champions. I also want to win trophies wearing this jersey.

I’ve won the I-League title with Punjab FC, but I haven’t yet lifted the ISL League or the Shield, which are India’s most prestigious football honours. I hope I can fulfil that dream wearing the Mohun Bagan jersey. Many of India’s top stars play for this team.

Training and playing alongside them will only make me better. My current goal is to adapt myself to this squad and give my very best. Although I’ve played for the Indian national team, I’ve never participated in the AFC Champions League. That’s another dream I want to achieve. I am ready to give my all.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant has the biggest fanbase in Indian football. I’ve heard the club has numerous fan clubs that support the team both at the stadium and across social media. I’ve seen all of that. And I’ve also seen the madness of the Kolkata Derby.

So far, I’ve only witnessed everything through my phone, laptop, or TV screen. But now, I’ll finally experience that electrifying atmosphere live on the field — and I’m looking forward to it. Many fans have already reached out to me in different ways. I promise them — I will do everything I can to fulfil their expectations.” Abhishek added.
