Jose Molina praised his players for their performance.
Jose Molina’s Mohun Bagan Super Giant got their fourth win of their 2024-25 Indian Super League(ISL) campaign as they beat Hyderabad FC 2-0 at the GMC Balayogi Stadium. Manvir Singh and Subhasish Bose got the goals for the Mariners as they rose up the ISL table.
Courtesy of their third consecutive win, Jose Molina’s side now have 13 points from their six ISL games. Trailing the leaders Bengaluru FC by three points, the Kolkata giants next play Odisha FC on 10th November at the Kalinga Stadium.
Following the game, Jose Molina was a happy man in the press conference. Here’s what the Mohun Bagan manager said.
Jose Molina’s thoughts on Mohun Bagan’s Win over Hyderabad FC
The Mohun Bagan manager was asked about his thoughts on the win against Hyderabad FC. To this, Jose Molina replied, “I am happy with the result, sure. Third victory in a row and a third consecutive clean sheet. It’s really good. We are happy. It was a tough match because Hyderabad started with a lot of pressure, you know, put us in some trouble.”

“We had a good defence, good organization, and didn’t concede goals. And, finally, we took advantage of a good situation for Manvir, to put the first goal on the score. I think we could have scored some more goals during the second half. But, I am happy. I am happy with the match, with the performance of my team and with the result.”
Mohun Bagan’s AFC Champions League 2 Exclusion and ISL Schedule
Mohun Bagan Super Giant were removed from the AFC Champions League 2 competition after they refused to travel to Iran to face Tractor FC. Owing to this, their ISL schedule has been disrupted as there are ten-day-long gaps between their league fixtures.
Regarding ACL2 and the ISL fixtures, Jose Molina said, “Well, to be honest, I would prefer to play in the ACL, because it was a really good opportunity for us to show everybody in Asia what kind of team we are. But, finally, no option for us.”
“It’s too long, the ISL fixture gap, it’s true. It gives some days off to rest for the players and more days to prepare for the matches in terms of physics, tactics, everything. OK, that’s good. We have to adapt and try our best.”
Will long gaps between their league matches in November help Mohun Bagan in their quest to retain the ISL Shield? Let me know your thoughts.
