ISL 2024-25: Mohun Bagan vs NorthEast United FC – Build-up

The Indian Super League (ISL) action returns to the iconic Salt Lake Stadium with a replay of the latest Durand Cup final between Mohun Bagan and NorthEast United FC. The match is scheduled for a Monday evening kickoff in front of a jam-packed crowd.

Mohun Bagan will be keen to get their first win on the board while the Highlanders will want their luck to continue in the City of Joy. It’s a battle between two of the most promising sides in the league this season and it remains to be seen who comes out on top.

The Mariners have not had a great start to their 2024-25 ISL campaign. They struck two past Mumbai City FC in the first half of their opening game before conceding two goals in the final stages of the matches.

Jose Molina’s men will be raging in fire when they take to the field against NorthEast United and will want to come to settle scores for the heartbreak in the Durand Cup final.

The Highlanders on the contrary are flying high with their newly found confidence. NorthEast United kicked off their season with a hard-fought 0-1 win over Mohammedan Sporting Club in Kolkata last Monday.

It was their second back-to-back win in Kolkata having won the final of the Durand Cup in August. Juan Pedro Benali’s side will be keen to continue their good run of form.

The Australian target man loves playing against NorthEast United. He has found the back of the net every time he has played against the Highlanders.

With three goals and an assist in three games, Cummings had a phenomenal record against NorthEast United. He will be keen to add more goals and assists to his tally come Monday.

Alaeddine became Northeast United FC’s hero in the Durand Cup final against Mohun Bagan. He helped his side script an iconic comeback with a goal and an assist against the Mariners.

Moreover, he came on in the second half and scored the winning goal for NorthEast United in their season opener against Mohammedan SC. Expect him to be at the top of his game in the upcoming games.
