Muhammad Suhail’s injury is a massive blow for Punjab FC.

Muhammad Suhail, who was initially announced as one of the club captains of Punjab FC for the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 season, is likely to be ruled out of the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury.

The 19-year-old forward from Kerala has suffered a shoulder dislocation, with the exact cause of the injury still unclear.

The setback could prove to be a major blow for Punjab FC as the recovery period is still unknown, while also coming as disappointing news for the club’s fans.

The news comes as a major disappointment for Punjab FC, with the injury being a significant blow to the squad. The young forward has featured in six matches in the ISL 2025-26 season and was also named among the club captains by Punjab FC earlier for this ISL 2025-26 season.

He was absent from the India U-23 squad for the recent tri-nation series, and his last appearance came against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on 12th April 2026.

Since then, he has not been included in Punjab FC’s squads for matchday and is now likely to miss the remainder of the ISL 2025-26 season, with four league matches still left to play.

His absence could be a huge setback not only for Punjab FC but also for India at the youth level. With a shoulder dislocation, the recovery timeline remains uncertain, and there has been no official communication from the club regarding the extent of the injury so far.

Despite limited appearances this season, he managed to register an assist against NorthEast United FC and remained an important young presence in the squad.

What next for Punjab FC?

For Punjab FC after their clash against Sporting Club Delhi, they still have 4 matches to play, and it is not all over for them yet. They are currently 7th on the ISL 2025-26 Points table and that’s a very good spot keeping in mind the limitations that the club faced.

Yes, Suhail’s shoulder injury will surely hit Punjab FC very hard, but they will need to chin up and get results without him and make sure that they finish this ISL 2025-26 season on a respectable spot and hope that Suhail returns back from this injury fully fit as soon as possible.
