NorthEast United FC vs Hyderabad FC lineups, team news, prediction & preview

NorthEast United FC sit at the sixth spot in the ISL table.
The Indian Super League (ISL) action will return to Guwahati for the final time this season as NorthEast United welcome Hyderabad FC in their 18th league game of the season. The Highlanders are yet to win a game since the turn of the year while the Nizams come into this game on the back of a huge win. The reverse fixture witnessed the hosts pull off a 2-5 comeback win in Hyderabad last month.
The Stakes
NorthEast United FC
The Highlanders have had a decent campaign so far, but they could’ve certainly done better than what they’ve done till now. They are yet to win a game in 2025 and come into this game on the back of four back-to-back draws. Juan Pedro Benali’s men have shown defensive resilience in their last four outings, but have struggled to find the back of the net. Their inability to score goals has hampered their position on the table as they are currently at the edge of the top six and any slips from here on can ruin their playoff aspirations.
Hyderabad FC
Hyderabad FC on the other hand have been highly inconsistent. They hold 12th position on the table and are very unlikely to make it to the playoffs. It’s been a tough season for them by all means and they have struggled in a lot of key areas. The fact that the Nizams have conceded the most number of goals in the league (33), speaks volumes about their fragile backline. However, they come into this game after securing a motivating win against Jamshedpur FC at home.
Injury and Team News
The home side are expected to have a fully fit squad available for selection while Alex Saji will miss the game for Hyderabad FC.

Players to watch out
Redeem Tlang (NorthEast United FC)

Redeem has emerged as a revelation under Juan Pedro Benali. He has turned out to be a solid right-back and has put in a series of good performances at the back. His ability to execute pinpoint tackles and to take on players makes him an important asset for the Highlanders. Tlang knows how to win the ball in crucial positions and averages 4.1 ball recoveries per game.
Manoj Mohammed (Hyderabad FC)
The left-back will be the man to watch out for the Nizams heading into this fixture. Manoj has made notable contributions on both ends of the pitch and has been one of the best Indian players across the league this season. His pace allows him to make bombing runs through the left flank and join in attack. He has racked up three-goal contributions this season, including two assists in the last match.
