NorthEast United FC vs Odisha FC Player Ratings: Gurmeet, Puitea shine as Isak, Thoiba disappoint | ISL 2024-25

Gurmeet saved the day for the Highlanders.
NorthEast United FC defeated Odisha FC by 3-2 goals at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Assam to register a much important win in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25.
The match began with an early goal by Alaeddine Ajaraie in the 12th minute of play to give Northeast United FC a 1-0 lead in the match. He again went on to score the second for his team in the 40th minute.
Hugo Boumous scored the first for OFC in the 60th minute. Guillermo Fernandez scored the third for NEUFC in the 71st minute, while Diego Mauricio scored the second for his team in the 83rd minute.

Gurmeet Singh – 7.5
Odisha failed to take a single shot on target. Gurmeet made a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of the game, a class save in the 74th minute, and one crucial collection in the same minute.
A reflexive save in added time saved his team from a last-minute draw. In total, he made three saves.
Dinesh Singh – 6.5
His crucial block in the 78th minute prevented the Highlanders from conceding a second goal. A good day for the defender, with two blocks, two clearances, and seven recoveries.
Parthib Gogoi – 6.5
Parthib provided the assist for the first goal scored by Alaaeddine. He created two chances in the match and was substituted in the 68th minute. In the last three matches, the Indian forward has scored goals and provided assists.
Asheer Aakhtar – 6.5
Handled Roy Krishna very well. The center-back missed a clearance in the 59th minute, allowing Hugo Boumous to score his first goal of the season. Defensively, he made seven clearances, including two-headed clearances, two interceptions, and one recovery.
Muthu Mayakkannan – 6.5
Alongside Mohammed Ali Bemammer, Mayakkannan handled the midfield very well. He made one interception and six recoveries and is becoming a key player for the Highlanders.
Jithin M.S – 7
Jithin could have scored the first goal today. He found himself in a one-on-one situation with Amrinder but couldn’t take the shot in the 73rd minute. His precise pass from the right side found Alaaeddine Ajaraie on the left side of the goalpost, who beat Amrinder Singh in a one-on-one situation.
Buanthanglun Samte – 6.5
A questionable clearance in the 37th minute could have cost the team, but fortunately, Amey Ranawade missed the opportunity. He created two goal-scoring chances and made five defensive clearances.

Macarton Nickson – 6
Good game for the youngster. His inclusion helped the team increase intensity.

Amrinder Singh – 6.5
Although Amrinder was guiding his team well enough, he looked a bit casual in the second half of play which was being exploited by the opponent.
Amey Ranawade – 7
Ranwade was quite efficient with his tackles in the match. He kept his game under control throughout the match and remained the best defender on the day for OFC.
Jerry Lalrinzuala – 6
Jerry never looked like finding the momentum in the match. He also looked tired after a while in the game.
Rohit Kumar – 6
Rohit looked more efficient in the midfield after the 25th minute of play but never had enough presence with the ball to create impact on the game.
Puitea – 7
Puitea maintained his composure throughout the match. He kept on running hard on the pitch to give his best at every second.
Raynier Fernandes – 6.5
Raynier made some desperate attempts to create opportunities in the match but unfortunately, none of them were converted.
Isak Vanlalruatfela – 6
Isak never looked like he was in form in the match. He was even substituted in the 67th minute of play.

Thoiba Singh Moirangthem – 6
Thoiba replaced Delgado at the start of the second half. Although he made some good tackles towards the end, he also lost possession quite a few times.
Jerry Mawihmingthanga – N.A
Jerry entered the field in the 67th minute of play. With his entry, OFC looked like a different team, especially with their midfield tactics.
