Odisha FC are up for their next challenge. On Sunday (October 27), they will face the defending champions Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25.
The Juggernauts have won just two matches from the five they have played so far and are placed in eighth place in the points table with seven points to their name. On the other hand, Mumbai City FC are placed in 10th place with just five points from four matches.
In the pre-match press conference, Odisha FC’s coach Sergio Lobera gave an interesting statement where he emphasized the improvements that his team needed to make for a positive result against Mumbai City FC.
Seven points from last three games
Odisha FC have acquired seven points from the last three matches, which includes two wins and a draw. Even though the team looks to be in good form, coach Sergio Lobera believes that his team still needs improvement ahead of the high-intensity clash.
Sergio Lobera stated, “We have achieved seven points in the last three games. But we are professionals, we can still improve our game. We need to continue working and improve as a team.”
“We are giving away a lot of chances to the opponent team. I would say we are not being loyal to our style of play for the whole 90 minutes of play. Hopefully, we can attack well because we do well in such a situation”, he added.

Every game is different
When you talk about any sport, undoubtedly every game is different and possesses different challenges for the teams.
When asked about Mumbai City FC, Sergio Lobera replied, “They are the defending champions. They also have some very good players on their side. They are much stronger at their home ground. But every game is different and we are excited about this opportunity. We are working on it and hopefully tomorrow we can show everyone that we are ready for big challenges.”
“Our team is scoring mostly in every match. But that doesn’t mean we can concede goals. We need to find a balance. Last season we were the team with the most clean sheets, now we need to work on it to achieve the same target,” Sergio Lobera concluded.
