With this win, Sergio Lobera’s men toppled Mohun Bagan Super Giant for the second position in the Indian Super League. The Jaggernauts are five points behind the Islanders who are on the brink of retaining the ISL Shield title.

In the second half, Odisha came out with a clear ambition to kill the game. Isak Ralte put the home side into a lead once more in the 61st minute. 

In the 68th minute, Diego slotted the penalty to put the game to bed secure three points for his side, and keep the hopes for the maiden ISL Shield alive.
