Owen Coyle feels competition will keep increasing with every matchweek in ISL 2025-26

Jamshedpur had to settle for a draw against Delhi
In what seemed like an easy game for second-placed Jamshedpur FC, the game ended in a hard-fought draw against debutants SC Delhi. The Delhi-based outfit was inching closer to their first win of the campaign unless Stojanovic found the equaliser in the dying minutes of the regulation time.
After the game, Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle briefed the media on the team’s performance, saying he felt the team could have won all three points.
Coyle feels JFC must avoid giving away soft goals

In all of their away games so far, JFC have failed to keep a cleansheet. Owen Coyle feels that his team must work on giving away such easy goals, and they are avoidable mistakes. He feels that playing two away games on the road is a herculean task, and he is proud of his boy’s efforts.
“It could have been better. But the players, what a comeback. We had a tough two games, playing at two different parts of the country. We also missed Madih in this game, who is still not fully fit. We saw Puia come into the game. He is a really fantastic talent, and he has a bright future. We are disappointed not to win the game when we could have really won the game tonight.”
On facing Mohun Bagan and Mumbai next

Owen Coyle feels every single game in ISL is competitive, and with two big games lining up against Mohun Bagan and Mumbai next, he feels it is important for the team to regroup during the international break to rectify the weaknesses to bounce back strongly in the next home games.
“My boys want to win every game. This is the same team that played in the Durand Cup, then the Super Cup, and I got just three weeks with the boys. We are working hard. It’s time for us to regroup during the break, and we have two big games lined up next against Mohun Bagan and Mumbai. What we need to stop is giving away easy goals; those are really unavoidable.”
“We were chasing the game, and we were the better team by the end of the match. We kept going, we kept the belief, we made the right substitution. So the thing is every game in ISL is competitive and the competition will keep increasing with every matchweek.”
On Talal’s fitness and injury concerns

According to Owen Coyle, Madih Talal had a career-ending injury once, and Coyle didn’t want to risk him. He said that scans revealed something and that updates will likely reach by morning. Madih has been an excellent playmaker, and his absence was felt tonight.
“We have to wait for the scans; we don’t hide anything here in Jamshedpur FC. By tomorrow or the day after, we can give a final update on his fitness conditions.”
