PC Laldinpuia has been Jamshedpur FC’s standout performer for the past two seasons.
Jamshedpur FC didn’t enjoy a top-notch ISL 2023-24 season but saw some rejuvenation at the hands of Khalid Jamil who took charge midway through the campaign. Prior to him it was Scott Cooper who was sitting on the hot seat. Even last season, where Jamshedpur FC witnessed a topsy-turvy campaign under Aidy Boothroyd, one player stood out from the crew – PC Laldinpuia.
As per the latest information received by Khel Now this evening, Chennaiyin FC have emerged as a potential suitor for Laldinpuia. A source tracking the move informed Khel Now, “PC Laldinpuia is in advanced talks with Chennaiyin FC. The Marina Machans are in desperate need of a versatile defender and Laldinpuia checks all the boxes demanded by the management and Owen Coyle.”
PC Laldinpuia might be in advanced talks, but the deal is far from being sealed and secured. There are a few other clubs who have taken notice of Laldinpuia’s performance from the last two seasons and it can be said that the defender will have more suitors trying to acquire his signature.
About PC Laldinpuia
PC Laldinpuia, fondly called Dinpuia, has emerged as a vital cog in Jamshedpur FC’s defensive machinery. Hailing from Mizoram, the young defender rose through the ranks of his local clubs before impressing with Aizawl FC in the I-League. His rock-solid performances caught the eye of Jamshedpur FC, who signed him in 2021.
Dinpuia’s versatility is a key asset. He can seamlessly slot into a central defensive role or play as a full-back, providing valuable cover across the backline. His strengths lie in his tackling prowess, ability to read the game, and composure under pressure. He brings pace and agility to the defence, allowing him to close down attackers and snuff out danger.
Chennaiyin FC’s playoffs hopes
Chennaiyin FC have acuired the sixth position in the ISL table and qualified for the playoffs. Their opponents will be decided after the Mohun Bagan vs Mumbai City game on 15 April.
