FC Goa clinch a narrow victory against Chennaiyin in the ISL playoffs.

FC Goa secured a hard-fought victory at home against Chennaiyin FC, to become the final team to qualify for the Indian Super League (ISL) semi-finals.  FC Goa and Chennaiyin, both incredibly started the game, and were very clear in their approach. Noah Sadaoui drew first blood for Goa in the 36th minute of the game. Minutes later, right at the stroke of half-time, Brandon scored a stunning long-range goal that wheezed past Debjit, right into the top left corner. 

However, that wasn’t the end of the drama in the first half, as late into stoppage time, Chennayin capitalized and scored after Goa failed to clear the ball from a corner kick.

The second half saw Chennayin put in a lot of effort for a goal, but a resilient defensive display by Marquez’s side ensured a win for the Gaurs and booked them a date with their southwestern counterparts Mumbai City FC in the semi-finals.
