Sunday’s Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 fixture took us to God’s own country where Kerala Blasters FC welcomed East Bengal FC in front of a sold-out stadium. The Red and Gold Brigade took a lead in the 59th minute, thanks to a goal from Vishnu PV. They were on cloud nine having scored their first goal of the season. But their happiness was short-lived after Noah Sadaoui brought the Tuskers back on level terms a few minutes later.

And just when it seemed the game would end in a stalemate, Kwame Peprah scored the winning goal after coming off the bench. The Ghanaian target man found the back of the net in the 88th minute and sealed the first win of the season for his side. East Bengal’s star-studded squad are just not able to make things right and have lost their second game on the trot.

A brief look at the points table

Bengaluru FC still find themselves at the top of the table with six points to their name. Jamshedpur FC and Punjab FC are level on points and are ranked second and third respectively. Chennaiyin FC are placed fourth while NorthEast United are ranked fifth. Kerala Blasters have jumped up to the sixth spot after picking up their first win.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant are in the seventh spot followed by Mumbai City FC who are ranked eighth. FC Goa are now placed ninth and Mohammedan Sporting have slipped down to tenth position. Odisha FC sit at the tenth spot followed by East Bengal at 12th place.  And the bottom place is still held by Hyderabad FC.
