Mohun Bagan grabbed all three points from a hard-fought victory.

Mohun Bagan finally managed to get their first three points in the latest Indian Super League (ISL) season following a comeback win against NorthEast United at the Salt Lake Stadium. The Mariners have completed their revenge over the Highlanders for the Durand Cup heartbreak last month. NorthEast United scored an early goal with Mohammed Ali Bemammer scoring a long ranger past Vishal Kaith.

Bagan came up with an immediate response and brought the game back on level terms, thanks to a header from Dipendu. Minutes later, NorthEast United launched a lightning-quick counter-attack and Alaeddine Ajaraie put his side in the front once again. Jose Molina’s men came out all guns blazing in the second half with Subhasish Bose scoring a controversial equalizer before Jason Cummings scored the winner just before full-time.

A brief look at the points table

Bengaluru FC continue to be at the top of the table with six points followed by Jamshedpur FC who are ranked second. Punjab FC finds themselves at the third spot while Chennaiyin FC and NorthEast United are level on three points and are ranked fourth and fifth respectively.

Mohun Bagan are still in the sixth spot while Mumbai City FC are still ranked seventh. FC Goa are in the eighth position, but Mohammedan Sporting have jumped to the ninth position. Kerala Blasters have dropped to the tenth spot followed by East Bengal and Odisha FC at the 11th and 12th place respectively.  And Hyderabad FC still finds themselves at the bottom of the table.
