Jordan Murray and Rei Tachikawa’s goals helped the Red Miners leap up to second place on the table.

Jamshedpur FC secured their fourth win of the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) season and handed Hyderabad FC their third defeat of the season. The Nizams started the game on the front foot and brought Albino Gomes into action a couple of times, but their hopes were shattered when Rei Tachikawa opened the scoring in the 29th minute and put the home side ahead.

The Red Miners kept on pushing for a second goal before Hyderabad FC created a crucial chance late in the final minutes of the first half. Jordan Murray doubled his side’s lead late in the first half. Cy Goddard pulled a goal back for Hyderabad FC in the 50th minute, but it just wasn’t enough to save the day for his side.

A brief look at the points table

Bengaluru FC continue to lead the pack with thirteen points in five games. Jamshedpur FC have jumped up to the second spot on the ISL table after securing their fourth win of the season. Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Punjab FC are placed third and fourth respectively. Kerala Blasters are in the fifth position and Chennaiyin FC are placed sixth with seven points in hand.

Mumbai City FC still sit in the seventh position with five points in hand. The eighth position is held by NorthEast United while FC Goa sit at the ninth spot. Odisha FC continue to be placed tenth. Mohammedan SC are ranked eleventh and Hyderabad FC are still ranked eleventh following their defeat today. East Bengal continues to sit at the bottom of the table.
