ISL 2024-25: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after match 47, East Bengal vs Mohammedan SC
This match was the 1001th game in the ISL history.
The 1000th Indian Super League (ISL) game saw Chennaiyin FC share spoils with the defending champions Mumbai City FC at the Marina Arena. Both sides came at each other with a few chances here and there before the hosts opened the scoring in the second half. Ryan Edwards headed it home in the 60th minute and put his side in the lead, but not for too long. Mumbai City FC’s prodigy Nathan Rodrigues brought the game back on level terms and rescued a point for his side.
The second match also witnessed spoils being shared at the Salt Lake Stadium as Mohammedan SC and East Bengal played out a 0-0 draw. Both sides created a few chances in the early moments of the game before East Bengal went out of the window following a red card each to Nandhakumar Sekar and Naorem Mahesh Singh. Mohammedan SC failed to capitalise on their advantage and played out their second draw of the season.
A brief look at the points table
Bengaluru FC will head into the international break as the league leaders with 17 points. Mohun Bagan continue to hold the second spot with 13 points. NorthEast United FC are ranked third while the fourth place is now acquired by Chennaiyin FC. FC Goa have further slipped down to the fifth position. Punjab FC have dropped down to the sixth position.
Jamshedpur FC are now placed seventh while Mumbai City FC are still locked in at the eighth position. Odisha FC are ranked at the ninth position and Kerala Blasters are at the tenth spot. Hyderabad FC continue to hold the eleventh spot with seven points in hand. Mohammedan SC are still ranked twelfth. Although East Bengal have finally managed their first point of the season for a chance, they are still settled at the bottom of the table.
