The Blues’ attack will once again need to show up against the Black Panthers.
Indian Super League (ISL) club Bengaluru FC assistant coach Renedy Singh expressed optimism, ahead of their matchweek 16 clash against Mohammedan SC. Despite a string of mixed results in recent games, the Blues assistant coach highlighted the team’s attacking potential and the importance of maintaining consistency in the upcoming games.
The Blues have had a wobble in their last five ISL games, winning 2 games, losing two games and drawing one game. However, Renedy Singh voiced optimism because of the chances they create in the attacking phase and believes they will turn things around quickly.
Ahead of the game against Mohammedan SC, Renedy Singh expressed his thoughts in the pre-match press conference on Friday.
Results will come for Bengaluru FC
Reflecting on their recent 2-1 loss to Jamshedpur FC, where the Blues conceded late, Singh looked at the brighter moments from the game. The Blues have experienced an attacking burst in recent games courtesy of the attacking qualities of Ryan Williams, Sunil Chhetri and Alberto Noguera.
While talking about the Jamshedpur game, Renedy Singh stated, “The way we created chances in the last match, if we continue to do that, it will be good for us. Yes, we have lost three points, but for the coaches, what we leave is that we dominate the game. We created the chances that we have created…The goals will come. If the players replicate this, I’m confident the results will follow.”

Defensive solidity remains a sticking point
The Blues assistant coach acknowledged the defensive lapses that have cost the team points in recent games. He stressed that his team needs to minimize individual mistakes to secure important points. However, he reiterated that it was a long league season and the club could turn it around.
While addressing the defensive fragility, he stated, “It’s a league, it’s not a tournament. It’s a marathon league…But if you see the game, not only the last match but if you see the match against Chennai, as a coach, we are happy with the way we are playing…So let’s just continue with whatever we are training on the ground. We try and replicate the same over here. And then things will come.”
Renedy Singh calls for focus in this challenging time
The Blues assistant coach also addressed the team’s fluctuating form, with inconsistent results leading to disappointment among the players. However, he shared his faith in the players coming good throughout the long and arduous season.
While sharing his thoughts, he stated, “Of course, after playing well, the players, and if we lose the players, yes, they are disappointed…But after creating so many chances, if you lose, players will feel bad. But at the same time, like I said, it’s a lot many more matches to be played.”
Sunil Chhetri will be the main man for the Blues
He also highlighted the importance of senior players like Sunil Chhetri in such situations, expressing confidence in their ability to convert key chances. Having scored nine goals in 14 ISL games this season, he is the club’s top scorer this season.
While talking about the club’s source of goals, Renedy Singh stated, “If a player like Sunil gets a chance, he’s not going to miss. Creating opportunities is tough, but we’ve been doing it, and the goals will come.”
With all players fit and raring to go, Bengaluru FC will look to bounce back with a strong performance in what promises to be a fiercely contested match. The translation of good performances into wins will be a natural progression that the club hopes takes place in the game against Mohammedan SC.
