The SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 has been taking place from May 25 to June 7. India will host this year’s SAFF Women’s Championship, as it gears up to kick off in Goa.
Six countries from the South Asian domain are set to battle it all out against each other as the title is on the line for them. Teams like India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives are set to test their fate when they start their campaign from 25th May. Defending champions Bangladesh will look to aim for another title when five-time champions, the Indian side, play at home with immense support from their home crowd.
As the time is clicking, the stage has arrived. A new chance for the Blue Tigresses to put their best possible efforts and clinch the title for the record sixth time, as it will be their eighth appearance.
Blue Tigresses eye for the sixth title

The Indian Women’s side is set to bring another edition of a campaign to the fans as they are set to host the SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 for the second time in history, after 2016. After a decent run of form in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, the blue Tigresses lined up to play in the SAFF Women’s Championship.
The Indian women’s side is grouped with the Maldives and defending two-time back-to-back champions Bangladesh in Group B. As a result, Blue Tigresses will settle to play their first game against the Maldives on May 25th at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao, Goa. And after that, they host Bangladesh in their last group game on May 31st from 19:30 IST. SAFF Women’s Championship 2026 Final is slated to be played on 6th June from 18:30 IST.
Blue Tigresses have already announced a preliminary squad for the SAFF Championship. Under Crispin Chettri, the Indian side looks very promising, as players like Manisha Kalyan, Soumya Guguloth, Pyari Xaxa, Sangita Basfore, and Shilky Devi have all made their names.
And also with them, the IWL golden glove winner Panthoi Chanu will lead the last line of defence for the Indian side. With a good side and ambition, the Indian Women’s Team is set to eye their sixth SAFF title at home.
