Mohun Bagan reach the ISL final for the second consecutive time.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant have done it once again, as they turned around the semi-final tie on their head, and got a result off a must-win game. After a 2-1 defeat away from home last week, Mohun Bagan needed a win tonight, to keep their Indian Super League (ISL) journey continuing. The Green and Maroon brigade started the game on the right foot and were dominant right from the start.

Their resilient start was made fruitful in the 22nd minute of the game when Amrinder deflected the ball onto the path of Jason Cummings, who made no mistake in placing the ball inside an empty net. Thereon, the game went at a high tempo, with both teams creating their chances, but not being successful in making them count. As the clock hit the 90-minute mark, seven additional minutes were added on, and a sudden belief surged inside the stadium for the home team.

Manvir took the ball from the left flank, and made a brilliant run to beat the entire defense, before playing it onto the path of Sahal, whose tap-in was initially stopped by Amrinder, but the deflection fell kindly for him, and the maestro made full use of the opportunity.

With this win, Antonio Habas and his men have booked their place in the ISL final, and have also ensured the venue for the 2023-24 ISL final.
