Hyderabad FC’s Interim Head coach Shameel Chembakath expressed his thoughts on their opposition at the Pre-match Press conference as Hyderabad FC take on Jamshedpur FC in ISL 2024-25 at the GMC Balayogi Stadium Hyderabad

Both Jamshedpur FC and Hyderabad FC desperately need these three points. Jamshedpur are fighting to stay in the ISL Shield race, while Hyderabad FC needs a win to climb the table.

On facing Jamshedpur FC

The Coach acknowledged that Jamshedpur FC is a tough team and expressed that they have been analyzing their recent performances and identifying areas where the team can improve, both offensively and defensively.

“We know that the match will be very strong. Of course, our goal is to be more clinical on the final third and we need to convert the chances which we created. I think against Jamshedpur we are addressing and analysing their strength and weakness. I think the boys are working hard and have been working hard the last couple of days.”

“There will be some changes in our tactical tweaks. But the main principle will be the same as how we go on our game plan. Of course, the boys are working hard and they are motivated and they are confident now. I think we are going in the right path and definitely we are fighting for the three points.” He added.

On Edmilson Correia and Cy Goddard’s injury update

Edmilson Correia and Cy Goddard were sidelined for the match against Bengaluru FC due to injuries. Providing an update, the manager confirmed that Edmilson Correia will be available for selection in the upcoming match.

“Edmilson is back in the training and he will be there in the 20th squad. We have one more training session today, so we will be assessing them. We have been planning in a way how tackle against Jamshedpur. Cy might take a few more days to come back. But it is a good thing that Edmilson is back in the squad.” He stated.

The coach expressed satisfaction with the team’s recent performances, particularly the draws against strong opponents like FC Goa and Bengaluru FC. He highlighted the team’s ability to compete with strong teams.

“If you see the last two matches against BFC and FC Goa, I think they are one of the strong teams in the league. And we as a team were dominating the match. Of course, the result was not plus three points, but still, that was one of the vital pointers for both matches.”

“And as I mentioned earlier, we addressed and analysed their style of play and their tactics and physically what you have mentioned. But I think the boys are strong and they are very committed now. And I am happy with the training and how they are doing. And I think we will take this challenge positively.” He concluded.
