Shameel Chembakath’s Nawabs face Odisha FC in their upcoming fixture.

Shameel Chembakath’s Hyderabad FC will travel to Bhubaneswar to take on Odisha FC in an exciting match in the Indian Super League at the Kalinga Stadium on February 14 2025.

Sergio Lobera’s men will be looking to build on their impressive 6-0 victory over Hyderabad FC in the reverse fixture. Key players like Diego Mauricio, Ahmed Jahouh Mourtada Fall, Hugo Boumous, Isak Vanlalruatfela, and Jerry Mawihmingthanga will be crucial to their success. However, The Juggernauts have been struggling for consistency recently, with only one victory in their last eight league games.

Hyderabad FC, despite a recent run of mixed results – two wins and two losses in their last six league games face a significant challenge in the form of Odisha FC. The Nawabs have a historical record of having failed to secure a victory in their last five encounters.

Hyderabad FC’s Interim head coach Shameel Chembakath spoke to the media at the pre-match press conference and shared his thoughts on the next clash.

Coach Shameel’s thoughts on the upcoming game

“You know when you are playing an away match and the home team is always at an advantage because they have the home crowd support as well. But at the moment I think Odisha is struggling as well trying to get good results at home. For me, regardless of the standings, we just wanted to build a good squad. For every match, we just wanted to focus and we just wanted to build a structure and progress,

Every match we focused on what we wanted to take and getting the best result. We just wanted to take a positive note when the season is finished. And for me, the only thing is boys are showing their resilience and the confidence that they are showing, That is more important. That is what we need to build on and keep that consistency going”, Shameel Chembakath stated.

Coach Shameel Chembakath has adopted a rotational approach to the squad selection of Hyderabad FC which has resulted in keeping the players engaged, injury-free and maintaining a good and healthy competition among the squad.

“The selection is always based on performance and fitness. And of course, we just build on a team where we can keep that consistency. But for me, the rest of the squad is giving their best whenever it comes to their minutes. So for me, this is one of the things we are assessing in the training sessions. And we will definitely be fielding a better squad against Odisha.” Shameel Chembakath concluded.
