FC Goa move to the second spot in the ISL table.

FC Goa bounced back to winning ways with an important win against Odisha FC at home. The Gaurs have moved to the second position in the process and have taken one step closer to the playoffs while things have gone from bad to worse for the Juggernauts. The hosts started off on the front foot and were all over the visitors in the first half. Borja Herrera, Iker Guarrotxena and Brison Fernades brought Amrinder Singh into action early in the game.

Fernandes broke the deadlock in the 29th minute with his seventh goal of the season and put FC Goa ahead in the tie. Odisha FC were awarded a penalty a few minutes later, but Hritik Tiwari stood tall and denied Diego Mauricio from the spot. Puitea ended up scoring an own goal at the start of the second half as FC Goa took a 2-0 lead. Rahul KP pulled a goal back with a picture-perfect strike, but it wasn’t enough to rescue a point for his side.
