The Islanders found their way out with a win.

Mumbai City FC settled scores with NorthEast United for the humiliation that they had faced earlier in the ISL season with a 0-2 win in Shillong. The Islanders were certainly the better side and looked more composed and determined to get a win while the Highlanders lacked intent. The home side were all over the visitors in the opening minutes and created multiple chances in the process.

Alaeddine Ajaraie and Macarton Louis Nickson troubled the away side with their attacking moves before Bipin Singh broke the deadlock with his first goal of the season and that too against the run of play. Juan Pedro Benali’s men kept on pushing for an equaliser but were denied by Mumbai’s backline on every occasion. Lallianzuala Chhangte scored the second goal and put the game to bed with 90+2′ on the clock.
