East Bengal’s ISL playoffs hopes rise with this victory against Bengaluru FC.
East Bengal FC defeated Bengaluru FC 2-1 in the recently concluded match of Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 at the Salt Lake Stadium on Sunday.
In the first half, Saul Crespo converted a penalty in the 19th minute to give East Bengal a lead in the match. In the second half, Sunil Chhetri scored an equalizer by converting a penalty in the 60th minute, but Cleiton Silva again helped the home team to take the lead in the 73rd minute and eventually win the match.

Mumbai City FC remain at the top of the ISL table with 44 points from 20 matches, while Mohun Bagan Super Giant have moved to the second place with 20 points from 20 matches. Odisha FC are now in third place with 39 points from 20 matches.
FC Goa are in fourth place with 39 points from 20 matches. Kerala Blasters remain in fifth position with 30 points from 21 matches, followed by East Bengal who have moved to sixth place with 24 points from 21 matches.

Chennaiyin FC are now in seventh place with 24 points from 20 matches. NorthEast United have taken the eighth place with 23 points from 20 matches. Bengaluru FC have lost one place and are now in ninth with 22 points from 21 matches.
Jamshedpur FC are now are in 10th with 21 points from 20 matches. Punjab FC are in 11th place with 21 points from 21 matches.
Hyderabad FC are the bottom-placed side with just eight points from 21 matches.
