FC Goa kept their hopes alive of a second-place finish in the ISL 2023-24.

FC Goa registered a win in their last group stage fixture of ISL 2023-24 by defeating Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium on Sunday. 

Rahim Ali was the first to find the net in the 13th minute of play to give Chennai a lead in the match. Goa replied strongly with four goals. After the equalizer by Borja Herrera, Carlos Martinez scored two and Brandon Fernandes scored one to help their team win the match by a 4-1 scoreline. 

A brief look at the points table 

Mumbai City FC remain at the top with 47 points from 21 matches, while FC Goa have taken the second place with 45 points from 22 matches. Mohun Bagan Super Giant follow them in the third place with 45 points from 21 matches. 

Odisha FC ended their league stage at fourth place with 39 points from 22 matches, and are followed by Kerala Blasters at fifth position with 33 points from 22 matches. Chennaiyin FC have taken the sixth spot with 27 points from 21 matches while NorthEast United ended their campaign at seventh with 26 points.

Punjab FC finished eighth in the points table. East Bengal, Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC ended ninth, 10th and 11th, respectively.

Hyderabad FC concluded their campaign at the bottom of the ISL table with just eight points from 22 matches.

1. Madih Talal (Punjab FC) – 10 assists

2. Manvir Singh (Mohun Bagan) – 7 assists

3. Rafael Schuler Crivellaro (Chennaiyin FC) – 7 assists

4. Lallianzuala Chhangte (Mumbai City FC) – 6 assists

5. Amey Ranawade (Odisha FC) – 6 assists
