Kerala Blasters are back to winning ways.

After a series of bad results that resulted in the departure of Swedish manager Mikael Stahre, the Kerala Blasters finally bounced back to winning ways in the Indian Super League (ISL) with a motivating 2-0 win against Mohammedan SC in Kochi.

The Yellow Army put together a disciplined show and made sure to give some joy to their fans in what has been a rough and tough season by all means.

The Blasters started strong and brought Bhaskar Roy into action multiple times across both saves before the keeper netted an own goal and broke the deadlock for the home side with a miscued punch out. Noah Sadaoui scored the second goal in the 80th minute before Alexandre Coeff put the game to bed with a third goal in the 90th minute.

A brief look at the points table

The upper half of the table remains unchanged following tonight’s result. Mohun Bagan lead the Indian Super League (ISL) standings with 26 points in 12 games. Bengaluru FC hold the second position with 24 points in 24 games. FC Goa are placed third with 22 points. Mumbai City FC continue to sit at the fourth position with 20 points. Odisha FC are still positioned at the fifth spot with 19 points followed by Punjab FC at the sixth position with 18 points.

Jamshedpur FC have accumulated 18 points and haven’t moved from the seventh spot while NorthEast United FC hold the eighth position with 15 points. Chennaiyin FC are ranked ninth with 15 points to their name. Kerala Blasters have regained the tenth position with 14 points while East Bengal have dropped down to eleventh. Hyderabad are still ranked at the twelfth spot with 7 points while Mohammedan SC sit at the bottom of the table with five points.
