ISL 2024-25: Updated Points Table, most goals, and most assists after match 77, Hyderabad FC vs NorthEast United FC
NorthEast United are back to winning ways.
Following two tough losses against East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant, NorthEast United FC finally bounced back to winning ways in the Indian Super League (ISL) with a come-from-behind 2-5 win against Hyderabad FC at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.
The Highlanders put on a spirited performance and made sure to give some joy to their traveling fans after a tough couple of weeks that tested their resolve as title contenders. Two goals from Guillermo, Alaaeddine Ajaraie and an own goal from Lenny Rodrigues was enough for the Highlanders to grab all three points.
It was the Nizams who started strong and shell-shocked the Highlanders with two quick-fire goals in the first 15 minutes. New signing Edmilson Correia got a first-half brace while giving NorthEast United a mountain to climb early in the game. However, a goal from Guillermo in the 18th minute kept the Highlanders in the game.
A brief look at the points table
The result had ramifications in the upper half of the table following tonight’s result.
Mohun Bagan lead the Indian Super League (ISL) standings with 26 points in 12 games. Bengaluru FC hold the second position with 24 points in 12 games. FC Goa are placed third with 22 points after 12 games.
Mumbai City FC hold the fourth position with 20 points in 12 games. Odisha FC are still positioned at the fifth spot with 19 points followed closely by NorthEast United FC who retake the sixth position with 18 points from their first 12 games.
Jamshedpur FC and Punjab FC remain level with the Highlanders having accumulated 18 points but trail only on goal difference. Chennaiyin FC are ranked ninth with 15 points to their name. Kerala Blasters have regained the tenth position with 14 points while East Bengal have dropped down to eleventh.
Hyderabad remain ranked at the twelfth spot with seven points while Mohammedan SC sit at the bottom of the table with just five points.
